All you new players take heart, if I can improve anyone can  :)

My 15 minutes of being purple has arrived, tier 6/7 is where I do best by the looks and I do have the most fun at these tiers.

I thought I had been improving a little bit, but a 70% WR over the last 30 days, wow i must be doing something right.

Dont worry folks, I'm sure Ill go backwards again as Ive just picked up the Grozovoi and my Tier X performance is abysmal  :)

Very nice!

I still remember when I had my first moment where the game just "clicked" for me. Having a strong desire to learn, recognizing your weaknesses, and recognizing (and avoiding) past mistakes are the first steps towards improvement!

The other thing I have changed is i try not to play too many games in a row, i would start losing then keep playing just to get that win in before..................well we all know how that ends.

Its obvious I'm terrible at BB's which I already knew.

The other thing is less weekend play, i now have a regular 9-5 job (it was shiftwork for over a year) i can usually get 1-3 games in before I go to work (play in AU so that means late arvo-early evening NA server time).

Playing ships I enjoy more has obviously worked to some extent as well.

congrats OP !! :o)

i'm nowhere close to an all purple moment, but got rid of a solid WTR bar of red all along the bottom...  a couple more thoughts along the line murray posted ....

if you notice there's a time of the day when it all goes wrong, like late at night for me, play at a different time (if you can), and see how it goes.

if you suck in a specific type, or just hate it, you are probably trying to make your play style work in a ship where WG intended otherwise. try something else.

avoid evening play on weekends, it's generally not good.

there is such a thing as a win streak. if you are on one of those, and a little voice says 'quit while you are ahead' do so. ditto loss strings, after 3 it's time for me to pack it in for the day.

I 'felt' like i was improving and was blown way by how much.

I had been losing consistently for months, go up a bit, go down more.

Simple fact is i was only playing for stats, stupid I know and it was ruining the game for me.

I played one Sunday, played for probably 8-10 hrs lost so many games and just flipped.

Uninstalled the game, dismissed 4 19 pt captains i was so pissed off swore I would never play again.

There was no drama queen thread, I obviously needed a break  it was just so stupid dismissing those captains because  i have to grind them all again.

not_acceptable notice how you're gradually improving and the average tier played is getting higher as well, is this solo play?

I'm still waiting for that day.  I'm so bad at this game that the system just renamed my commander "Captain Derpy McPotatohead".

Good job Murryhawk, one should always strive to improve. Many players find success by divisioning with better players or at least...... players of their own skill level.

Improving is always great, well done! Also good to see you are still having fun doing it :) that is the main objective. I would also suggest watching some of the major YouTube personalities. It is a great way to get insight on tactics, game mechanics and skill/ship builds.

Congratulations, have a +1 for the effort and desire to improve.

Although with your game count and relatively average stats already you will quickly see rapid improvements in your numbers if the game has 'clicked' for you.  A few weeks of purple and your overall will be green then blue in no time.

Thank you everyone for the kind words.

SmirkingGerbil your stats are already better than mine so not sure if i can offer anything useful but the main points for me:

Stop when losing 2 or 3 in a row (i never used to in the past)

Play ships you enjoy, and can do well in.

Less weekend play has helped me enjoy my limited playtime more, which means Im less frustrated.

Brother, this last week has been hell for me. It is like a switch flipped! You look nice and steady. But yeah, I tend  to push through after 2 to 3 blowouts and suffer for it.

Have a look back beyond my recent, steady improvements where i actually went from 49.5% right back to a low 48.3 at one point. I was on a steady decline for months.

174 battles, you haven't even begun to suffer yet, LOL. Time to buy a Tirpitz and go sailing with your 0-point captain! No worries, though, after a couple of thousand battles, you should do much better.
