The second time I was pink was actually due to something like this. I was in a DD and had torps selected to judge enemy ship movement. I have done that before. Wasn't pointed at anyone....just clicked the wrong button. Shells splashed into the sea next to me. If someone just happened to be there....it would have looked very bad.
