How many reports/compliments show karma change?

We had a change not long ago to the number of reports and compliments you have.

Did anything change for the number of reports you give for negative karma?

It use to be 2 negatives/positives would give or subtract 1 karma point. Is that still the same, or is now 1 for 1?

No clue, but if you are looking for negative karma here are some tips:

 

- Complaining that your BB's are all hiding in a small coordinate of the map usually does the trick for me.  I try to mix it up a bit and find something sarcastic/funny to say rather than throw a tantrum.  

- Not firing your guns to give your position away as a DD and instead playing the cap at the end of the game for the win does the trick too.

- Oh and killing someone while sailing a Belfast is a good way too.  Tell them you love them too and blow them a kiss after they spout the salt to secure the -1.

 

I don't know how many -1's I get typically, but those are all good tips for getting negative karma.  Honestly I am not sure I've ever gotten bad karma for the mistakes I make.  Usually, it's for being a sarcastic [edited].

 

Point being, who cares.  Anyone can give anyone negative karma for any reason.  Often, you get it for reasons other than for what the system was intended.

Dunno, it is difficult to tell, since you are only notified of reports/compliments received during the match.  Those made after the game ends do not generate a notification.  So I have noticed a 1 to 1 correlation with the notification to my Karma, but there is no way to know for certain if there are additional hidden reports/compliments also at work for a 2 to 1 ratio in reality.

I have 11 for compliments and 11 for reports and they are in distinct buckets. It is not one pool of 11 shared.

I equally get complimented and reported as being a top xp performer in most matches.  Some people recognize how to best play wows.. but most have no clue.. thus by definition you can't have a productive chat convo with those that have no clue..  the best I got these days is just stating that I play for Fun and to win.. staying alive and killing more ships = more fun and more winning.   I never understand why bad players think both can't coexist.... tldr. Bad players report me good players compliment me.. thats randoms in a nutshell.

Wulf I think it is +1 compliment, +1 karma. +2 reports, -1 karma. Read that somewhere, not sure if here, Reddit or patch notes because it was changed, used to be +1 report, -1 karma.

No one knows, especially since you are not notified of all reports. I gain 2 Karma last week and later lost one, but I was not notified of any of three changes.

I was in a match with a unicum Z-52 player.  He was the last one on our team alive against at least 5 of them, and the reds had A B and C.  I said "Stop sailing around doing nothing you F-ing shitter. Cap ABC and we win."  Got a bunch of compliments.

I believe it's 1 to 1 for compliments and reports. However, you only get notified of a report if there are more than two. I believe I've read the latter point. I also once lost 7 karma (before we had 10), and I didn't do anything except sink some cruiser who had given me a nice broadside. (I didn't say anything in chat.) So, I assume the sore loser used all his 7 reports on me. That was also the only time I remember being notified that I had been reported even though I've lost one karma at a time many times.

I'm pretty sure I saw in a trustworthy seeming thingy somewhere that 1 compliment = +1 karma and 2 reports = -1 karma.

Really? Source? If it's the wiki, what does that use as source?

Just going off of what I see on my screen after battle... it will say "you have received 1 compliment, your karma increased by 1" or it will say "you have been reported 1 time, your karma decreased by 2"  This lanugage changed in one of the last patches as it states the specific increase or decrease as it used to be a 1 to 1 ratio.  So that is what I am basing my post on..  but who knows.. maybe the UI language is incorrect.

Telling [edited] divisions who keep bad mouthing other players to shut up will get your karma deducted pretty quickly

I am inclined to believe that one down vote is enough to lower karma by one.  In the last two days I have lost two karma points, once while finishing second and once while finishing third.  I stay off chat so it wasn't anything I said.  Since I can't believe two irrational idiots voted me down both games, I lean towards one vote per downgrade.  

On the other hand, I have also seen certain streamers who will check "plays poorly" once and then "misbehavior in chat" once when they want to down vote.  The combination of two different types of down votes may result in a reduction of karma, even if from the same player.
