They are quite the comedian for a Naval Officers
P.S. I laughed so hard at the part where they ordered food from the waitress

The Holy Grail was funny . . . everything else they made is kind of odd.

And how dare they do that to President Franklin Pierce at 3:06

Spoiler

I'm pretty sure that's Pierce, looks like him and he's wearing the insignia of the same rank Pierce was (Brigadier General)

Yes, I can see the humor (or humour as British and Canadians like to misspell it)

It's because you're one of those diehard traditionalist Americans, you can't understand anyone else's humour, let alone the British... which is, admittedly, an acquired taste.
For example, to you, this makes no sense but to me and most folks of British heritage would find this hilarious

It's all odd.  The Holy Grail was hilarious.  But, there are skits in Monty Python's Flying Circus that are even better...especially relative to what was being offered by network TV after 11pm in the 70's.  You know...back when we had five, maybe six...stations to choose from.

You are correct, I didn't find most of that funny.

The only parts I found humorous was the beginning with the couple that had nothing to do with the story, the guy with the bus, and the one man soccer game.

The rest of it just seemed like Scottish stereotypes, which I of course am unfamiliar with.
