Graf Zeppelin and its current WIP Performance

By the way, earlier I made a rantier thread. This time, I hope to be more objective. This is the testing gameplay of Graf Zeppelin. Here, you can see its Paulina AP bombs being tested against various kinds of ships. Now because I don't own the Graf Zepplelin and I'm not a superester, I can't accurately judge the ship. That and also, the GZ is in testing and it's in WIP.

 

However in short, the AP bombs look strong but the fighters are weak, even against Enterprise planes. It will take up to player skill to win the fighter duel. The GZ's AP bombs seem to be more effective against a more range of ships, but it may fall into the same problem with the Enterprise as it's still specialized towards being an anti-BB weapon. 

 

Any experiences going against the GZ or playing them (those under NDA and playing this ship, do not answer)?

Brutal to CAs, a nice touch--but it seems those AP are more effective vs. KMS BBs given their deck armor.

 

Still, 3 of these DB comes to about 18-21 total, and looks US/IJN BBs will definitely feel that.

 

Would've been better doing TB with V-shaped drop, but if this works, I'll consider buying GZ.

As a collector and a long time fan of this anomaly of a ship, I'll be buying her. As someone that doesn't like dive bomber play, I probably won't user her much. Really, really disappointed they didn't stick with torps.

The military historian in me is glad to see the Stuka TBs gone. I have the sneaking suspicion we'll see them reappear with a loadout of 2DB and 1 TB though.

Gal I hope not.  I mean look at the current Lexington.  95% of the time everyone will focus fire the TB and, personally, I have yet to finish a good round with all my TB.  At least if they focus fire one squadron of DB, I'll know I have plenty to spare.

 

My sneaky suspicion, if we get 212, your giving creating better fodder to complain about this ship.
