Yeah the match making blows sometimes but it that's something Wargaming is working I hope. Now, I'm probably not alone in this, but in many, many situations World of Warships becomes "World of Warchat" in the in-game chat. People who complain about others in such a hostile way. Arguments all over the place & I've even seen people saying: I will murder you" Like really? Over a game? The chat has become such a game killing feature. Of course, It's nice to be able to communicate with your team who act like adults. But so many people are abusing that ability & it's getting less fun to play World of Warships for that solo fact. Wargaming, if your reading this, I propose you to either: #1. Remove the Global & team chat completely. Not the Division chat as that's something between 3 people at most & can be solved by kicking someone out of the division #2. To close the ability to text for everyone who die within a game. So they actually stay dead & won't ruin the game for others If anyone else reading this & has a different suggestion how to stop the chatwar, thank you! If there is any spelling mistakes then my apologies. Fair seas captains! o7 Edited August 14, 2017 by Dannybohn

Instead of removing a broad feature that can be used for good or bad, I would suggest that you simply use the "block" feature that is already provided in the game. The "block" feature will allow you to control what you see without limiting the good uses of chat (even for dead people). Happy hunting.

646 Sotaudi Beta Testers 1,611 posts 10,275 battles Report post #5 Posted August 14, 2017 Disabling chat for global and team communications is a bad idea. As to the global, there is often a lot of good natured banter between teams. For example, I fired some torps at just beyond my Marbelhead's torpedoes' max range (8.2km) because the target was unable to move further away due to the border and some islands, (as a result) he was closing the distance, and I was not going to survive his incoming salvo to get another try. Due to the fact (as he admitted later) he did not realize the range on the Marblehead torpedoes, he continued sailing the same course after I died, and due to the slow speed of them, he had plenty of time to relax. Well, as it turned out he did arrive on the predicted line right as the torpedoes did, but fortunately for him he did so probably at around 8.21km, just beyond their range. Afterwards, he asked in global chat what my torp range was, and I told him and commented he must have heard them bump against his hull right as they died out. He laughed and confirmed that it was definitely an "Oh, [bleep]!" kind of moment. While there may be some trash talk between teams, there are also a lot of moments like that as well as a lot of salutes and respect exchanged. As to disabling team chat for those who have died, this is even a worse idea. When someone dies, that doesn't mean their investment in the match is over. If those remaining alive lose, they lose. More importantly, they become a second set of eyes for everyone who is left. They can watch the mini map or other ships' perspectives and help keep people informed of threats they may not see. Them getting killed doing their part does not remove their right to continue aiding the team, nor is it smart to prevent them from doing so. In any case, all of this is unnecessary since there is a chat block feature with which you can easily silence anyone you do not wish to listen to. If someone is misbehaving in chat, report them and use the block to silence them. No need to throw out the good with the bad.

I don't agree w/ the banning dead teammates from chat in that I've seen many positive examples of when contributions were made by dead teammates that encouraged or helped the remaining team. These are: 1) Teammates complimenting or supporting existing teammates for good play 2) Complimenting the enemy team for a particularly enjoyable battle or good play. 3) I played a recent game where I was protecting a flank while the remaining ships engaged some BBs - after I died, I let the team know what was left and likely to attack them from that flank (a Fletcher) - our remaining CA used that info to revector his efforts & kill the DD as the new flank protector - w/o this communication, our team's BBs may have been subjected to flanking DD torps and we may not have won what was a close game. When you are fighting on a different front, you don't know the tactical moves your teammates are doing so it's important to allow updating your team on potential remaining dangers that you were protecting them from. 4) I've weighed in on "close point" battles re: how the math works out re: kill/hide/run strategies that can win games or throw them away depending in whether the team executes the right strategy. When you're actively battling, you can lose track of this easily (or some are not familiar enough w/ the details of how the cap point mechanics work). Thus I've seen players throw a way a won game or give up or execute the wrong strategy re: points for a easily winnable game, and lose that way. Allowing dead teammates (who're monitoring the battle & have done the math w/o the stress of battle) can help explain this to the remaining team to increase your team's chances of winning. 2,562 [SYN] Kapitan_Wuff Members 8,292 posts 14,496 battles Report post #7 Posted August 14, 2017 No, I like having full team and even enemy team chat. Sure there are those annoying crybaby types and even the more toxic players but they still seem to be a minority. I often enjoy the banter between teams and such. You can always just block someone if you like and reporting is also an option. Completely removing the feature is punishing all players that enjoy the feature and for what reason? Cause you got butthurt and didn't just block someone? That is letting the trolls win. Were you the kid that would take his ball home so no one else could play just cause you didn't get your way?

Nice shot, making jokes about my krasny krym and donuts... the list goes on. The chat banter keeps everything Spicy. Plus as someone who has almost a thousand CV games, I need chat to communicate with my team so we have better chances.
