So decided to play some coop games this morning to pass a little time.

Coop match 1, Gaede, 80k damage, 5 kills

Coop match 2, Flint, 94k damage, 5 kills

Coop match 3, Yorck, 81k damage, 5 kills

Just for fun looked to see if my Karma went up after 3 good games in a row.... Nope.... My karma went down 1.  Seriously, reported for doing well?  /boggle

Wasn't in your matches nor have I (knowingly) even been in a match with you so I don't know how you regularly conduct yourself. But having a good performance in a match isn't connected to your behavior in a match.  You could do well while also being a [edited] in chat, pissing people off by kill stealing/ramming/ect.

I give compliments on teamplayers, supportive (in game and chat) payers, and all sorts of reasons that are not just connected to how many kills they got.

Ps. I have heard but not confirmed that it takes three reports to lose one karma point.

Na, just takes 1 report for -1 karma.  The only thing that takes multiple reports is reporting foul language, if you get 3 in one match (from those not in a division) you get a 24 hour chat ban.

Nope it's 2 negative reports to lose 1 karma. But 1 positive raises it 1 point.

Had that been randoms, you would have received three +1's from me, plus a kudos over chat.   If you carry, I'll thank you for that.    As far as co-op, I don't karma either way, since the matches are so short, and we're fighting bots.    That said, I ran a co-op match last night to finish my kill portion of the UK challenge.     And the bot would die as my shells were in the air.   Not a technical kill steal, but it felt like it.    I'm guessing the -1 may have come from a similar situation, where kills are needed and then deleted before they could get 'em.

^This. Being reported is only connected to how annoyed other players are; it has nothing to do with how many kills you get.

I try to remember to give folks good karma when I see them do something worthy.  And I'll give out bad karma if I see something egregious.  In general, I try to reward much more than I chastise.

However, I have a feeling some folks on the red team will give you bad karma because you're too good.  Yes, they'll knock you for playing well.  Can't prevent that.  Just hope the number of folks using karma properly will swamp those who use it improperly.

Depends - if someone thought you were a bait stealer then you probably got a neg rep..  However, Bait stealing isn't always wrong as I'll bait steal if I am the subject of focused fire (seems to be the norm lately) and just want the bad ship to go away.
