now not even able to get to the launcher screen (adleast my old launcher could get to the connect screen)

like what the hell?!

i go from not able to join the game to not even able to get to the launch screen!

this would be fine if it didn't say to "replace" the old launcher...

I installed the updated client after the 0.6.9 patch, and everything works fine.

I had the same issue--you might have to do a full re-install.

Delete the app completely by using AppCleaner and download the wrapper again. Yeah, it's annoying, but surprisingly it didn't take as long as I thought it would. You might even be able to scrape 10+ more fps than usual like I did. The only downside is that you'll have to reconfigure all your old options and settings.

World Of Warcraft platform is dead?

Glad I stopped playing that years ago.

This.  For the last few updates, for whatever reason on my Mac I've had to do a full delete and re-install to get the game to run properly.  But once I do this the game is stable with good performance.  Not too much of an inconvenience for me as I have a good fast home internet connection.  I start the download in the morning right before I head out for to give the dogs their morning walks, and it's done by the time I'm back.

It's the wrapper, as for mine a window pops up and closes, but some quick screenshotting reveals that the bottler/wrapper is automatically shutting down.

Mine was locking up at soon as I clicked "Connect".  Per the link in the first post, re-installing the wrapper solved the issue for me.

It took me several tries, and the app cleaner to get the instructions to work.  Appears to be redownloding the 4.5GB game now, which is much further than I could get before.

EDIT: Made it through the 4.5GB and now working on the 12.5GB of updates.  SweetJeebus that's a lot.

Bite the bullet and buy the $2.99 App Cleaner! After almost three weeks, over a dozen attempts to get the game to run on my late 2013 MB Pro, I said WTH, maybe that's the ticket?...It was! When I ran the app cleaner I saw how many WOWS folders and files were left after trying to uninstall the game "The Mac Way" (Drag it to the trash...lol), That's why my re-installs were not successful. The game runs now, albeit in the lowest graphics settings, but it runs.

Replacing the wrapper fixed the launch crash for me. The latest patch (0.6.10) is running better for me in OS X than the game has been in months.
