conqueror to replace yamato?

I was looking through the new tech tree for the brits and I noticed that the conqueror has 12 457 mm guns. Thats only 3 millimeters smaller then yamato's! With 12 guns will the conqueror actually be able to pull off yamato's shenanigans and replace her?  it seems a tad op to have 12 yamato(ish) guns.

The 457mm are in Twin Turrets.

Conqueror will get melted by 203mm HE spam and Yamato lol-pens every time she gets spotted (32mm armor all around). She also only has 8 guns, whereas Yamato gets 9 of them with much better precision.

460mm will over match 32mm bow armor.

357 will not.

Conqueror will not be able to pull yamato's shenanigans.

At least not the one shes mainly known for.

The 12 gun configuration is a smaller shell size. 420mm like the germans, I think. The 457s come in twin turrets.... unless its changed again.

Conqueror has two gun configurations. One is 12 419mm guns, and the other is 8 457mm guns.

you should try the "Clear vision" mod to get rid of that gray watermark. And view the ships in full color

So the two gun selections to the side which both are the same 457mm are just a cover?

That's interesting.

 

I thought it was the 12 16" or 8 18". If that's right (and it may not be), I would guess that the reload is what compensates.

 

However, 457 is not 460, that 3mm makes all the difference in lol-penning. The Conqueror will never be able to penetrate like the Yamato.

It is, and looks to be, but in game, the gun mounts are the exact same, which makes me thing it's a cover.

I think you're right, everything I've seen indicates that the 18 inchers are 8 guns.

 

No matter what you did to pen, 12 18" guns would still be a little OP unless they really nerfed the reload. At the least, can you imagine the HE potential?

It shouldn't be 12 18in, but 8 of them. You get the second biggest caliber for less guns.

457 will not overmatch 32 mm of bow armour, as stated above, so she will not lolpen any bb bow on. That said, she will probably have about 14k cit dmg(correct me if wrong; rough guess), so there is that...

I was on a team this evening that went up against a team with a Conqueror.  I contributed more to my team's win than the Conqueror and it's driver did for it's team - with an Ognevoi.
