As we are in the midst of getting Yamamoto, or at least some of us will get him.  Something tells me WG will continue this trend as it seems fairly popular.  I thought it might be fun to see who everyone would like to see as the next famous naval leader to campaign for in each nation.  This list wasn't easy to put together and I am sure you all probably have your favorites.  If you don't see your favorite on the list, feel free to post your choice.  I apologize in advance for any spelling errors..don't think there are any but hey, you never know.

Pick one for each nation in the poll.  Voters names are not public.

Fletcher, because I could put him in the ship bearing his name. I wouldn't mind famous fictitious Commanders I vote for Captain Jack Sparrow in that case. At this time in history more people world wide probably know of Captain Jack Sparrow. Not only that WG would probably have to partner with Disney to use the name and any one who partners with Disney is bound to be successful now and into the far future. ( by the way for those of you opposed to Jack Sparrow it was just kind of a joke ).

LOL  Actually Sparrow isn't all that bad of an idea as an arp ship commander.  LOL  I wouldn't mind having him.  But I would bet anything Disney would want a bag full of money to use his name.

Simple solution- Captain Jake Swallow, or some other title to add on to Captain not Jack Sparrow. You'd be amazed how easy it is to get around these things.

That said much as I voted for Halsey, I say maybe go a little below fleet commanders, get people like Ernst Evans (Commander USS Johnston, battle of Samar) and notable captains and gear the off skills (like Yamamoto) or trained skills (Jack D, Seagal) to the ship type they commanded/most notably commanded,so in Evans case, maybe increased fire rate to primaries of BFT, default last stand skill, some other things making him ideal to helm a DD.

I did that with Walker of England as he is the father of ASW tactics that changed the war in the Atlantic.  I agree with you on the specific captain skills...but than we would need BB captains, dd captains, cv captains, etc.  That list would be noteworthy and long!

Admiral Spruance.

I went ahead and added him to the poll.  I was torn between him and Fletcher when I tried to keep this to 5 choices max.

Good choices and nice poll - +1

Would have added USN Admiral Jesse Oldendorf - famous for the Battle of Surigao Straight

I actually thought about him!!!!  But seeing as how WG started with yamamoto....i tried to keep it to the "main" players.  But he is certainly worthy of the mention and more!!!!

Could it be a u-boat captured that they are preparing for tow?  I don't know which one though.

Edit: OMG is this u-505?????  The one at the Museum of science and industry in chicago?

LOL  It hit me after looking at the tow line.  I had to go to the museum site and look at the u-boat to make sure.  Thanks for the photo!!!!  Fantastic post.

I would love to see WG run several of these commander campaigns at once.  This way when you are done waiting for the next task to unlock, you can start on another commander, or, they can just go for the one they really want..   Maybe 2 or 3 going at once.  It will take a while to get these done one at a time.

Just washed the submarine were going to take it out in the sunshine and let it dry off?

(and aren't most of the "Captains" on the list actually Admirals?)

Yes, Walker of England was not, he was a destroyer captain that changed the direction of the Atlantic war with his ASW tactics, some of which are still used to this day.  All of these admirals had distinguished naval careers.  I wanted to add more of the captains and commanders, but quickly realized the list is long and honorable.  If you have a favorite mention him here.

Kapitanleutnant Felix Von Luckner, SMS Seealder.

He was one of the most successful German raider commanders of WW1, and also one of the most humane human beings ever to live.
