Just how bad is it going in WOT?

Second weekend in a row I'm getting 3 days free premium for a game I don't play. :Smile_teethhappy:

Are they really having issues over there?

Added the letter i got, it's identical to the one from last week.

In April we observed many players experiencing connection issues with the contact list resulting in players unable to chat, blacklist or platoon. We have been working hard to fix the issue and last week we deployed a temporary fix that solved the problem for the majority of players. We are currently working on a full fix that should be ready for deployment in the future. In the meantime we are crediting all players this Thursday with the following Thank You package for sticking with us during these problems and for all the help you provided in diagnosing the issue:

         3 Days of Premium Time

         3x 2hr +50% Credit Boosters

         3x 3hr +200% XP Boosters

Thank you for your patience and for all of your help. We will update each Thursday on the status of the final resolution. Please keep sending us feedback and post to this forum thread if you are continuing to have issues:

Not that I can see.  Clan Wars started up again yesterday.  My clan took two properties and kicked [edited].  Predictions of WOT going "down the tubes" are untrue.    Almost as fun as WoWS.

As they have been for almost 7 years.

The game's going fine. Only bad part about it, from my experience, is that if you think seal clubbing is bad here, you can't even imagine what it's like for new players over there.

Looks to be doing just fine, based upon 2016 revenue....

If you have premium time in WOT or Planes it carries over to WOW. So you can enjoy those days here on WOW.

Just log into wows & there they are. Mind you, I hadn't been getting 3 days of prem time til now. Think I had one day last weekend. No emails from WG about this & the wot forums make no mention of this either.

No idea, but I've gotten this email two weeks in a row, and 3 days both times.

As far as WOT dying, I would have no idea, since I don't play. I just found this gift two weeks in a row somewhat unusual, and was curious as to why?

I think the bizarre part of this is "April" and "We just deployed a temporary fix in August"

This had to do with a very messed up chat channels bug . So to compensate people the are doing this every Friday for anyone that played a match since the end of April until they have a permanent fix/patch . Right now they have a temporary one that iirc they have to do on the server almost every day .

So enjoy the free goodies !  Oh and if you are not using those reserves can I have them ; lol .

It's not as bad over there as many WoWs players think. You occasionally get those games where you comprehend the future of mankind but we get those types of games here too.

It only gets really bad when there's a x5 weekend going on . . . like now.

As TTK said though, because of the horrid balancing at low-ish tiers (two to like, five), seal clubbing is pretty common.

Their 2016 figure is almost the same as their 2015 figure.  Which means WoT growth is flat.

Also the list fails to update that a number of games are making over 800 million to well over 1 billion in 2017.

Clash Royale

Clash of Clans

Monster Strike

Honor of Glory

Crossfire

League of Legends

Pokemon Go

Puzzles and Dragons

Aren't six of those mobile games? I think WG might be in wrong scene. /s

Mobile games are the fastest growing sector of gaming, and in terms of total revenue, may have already well exceeded both PC and console gaming, whom both sectors are not growing and might be shrinking (losing and not recovering users every year).

WG is trying with World of Tanks Blitz, recently released World of Warships Blitz, as well as another game.  They have also organized a new mobile division.  But WoTB can only be described as a moderate success; despite tens of millions (over 50 million downloads) it failed to replicate the breakthrough, dominating phenomenon of WoT in the PC world. WoTB is way down the list in terms of gross revenue in both Apple App Store and Google Play, not even in the top 100.  It also has a bit of a cannibalistic effect on WoT by having WoTB on Steam.  The number of downloads didn't mean much, as it meant, a lot of people tried it, but didn't stick with it eventually.

Outside of WoT, Wargaming has tried to apply variations of the WoT formula outside of WoT in WoTB, WoWP, and WoWs.  Outside of WoT, that formula only found limited to moderate acceptance,

By far the most successful mobile game from the Russian/CIS games industry is Pixonic's War Robots, which is kind of like Mechwarrior in mobile and steroids.  That game even scored an Editor's Choice from Google, which puts it on a very elite club of mobile games.
