A two part question:

1. Have you thought about a more equitable matching system that would include Captain's Skills as well  as tier level?

I am experiencing matches about 70% of the time, with a majority of team mates who have less than 35% win rates and average damage under 10k, while the other team has 6 or 7 captains with win rates at or well over 50% and average damage in the 25 to 50k or better range.   This is especially prominent at tier VIII and compounded when you are now more frequently becoming bottom tier against tier IX and X ships.  The majority of unskilled players have obviously bought higher tier boats with little playing time to acquire personal skill.  The rest who have worked the way up obviously are very adversely effected by the trend of a growing population of high tier/unskilled team mates as well.  When you see this at the beginning of a match you know you have wasted the personal expenditure of premium time, flags and camo because you know you a sailing into an unorganized un-supporting rout eventually to be focused and die at the match's end with an untenable scenario working against you and a frustration to push you and the low skill clients into other non-WG games.

2. Divisions are limited to 2 tier spread for fair play would you reconsidered a 2 tier limit to matching?

You have frequently realigned ships with inequities for a fairer game environment.  The combination of the two above considerations would give low skill/high tier ship purchasers a chance to survive long enough to enjoy their higher tier expenditure with WG and be more likely not to quit WOW in frustration and to have longer rounds with enough playing time acquire skills at a faster rate.  Skilled Captains would have more efficient use of WG purchases and opportunity to play against better teams.  A Win-Win-Win for all, higher skilled captains, less frustration, all resulting in War Gaming enjoying the profits from a better retention rate.

bad luck. I have had a terrible week of losses in t8+ matches, makes you feel cursed, I know. Take a break from the game, sometimes it helps/ I didn't read any further, than this..

When you see this at the beginning of a match you know you have wasted

This sums up the real problem. You presume upon the final result at the start of the match, and so don't make an effort, and so make losing even more probable. You become the source of bad luck for everyone else.

Yup, people that give up before the batch starts are losers that self fulfill their prophecy.

MM, is fine a little adversity is good for you. I am thankful for all the crapplayers cause without them we wouldn't have a large enough game population. And since they are just as likely to be on the enemy team as my own I don't see it as a problem. Just gotta carry sometimes.

So stop looking at peoples win rates and just play and enjoy the game... or don't and quit.

One of the reasons I hate T9/10 gameplay.

Half the population there seems to think they are playing end game stuff when there is no such thing in this game.   "Oh look mommy.. Thanks to your credit card I am now T10 can I have another bag of cheetos please?"

The main change in meta at T9/10 is dealing with those people, not the changes to the ships that if you had worked up the lines would be just a slight shift in power.

Best tiers to play in this game currently are tiers 4 to 7 ( yes even with the chronic cockup to MM at T5 )..  those that are dashing for "end game" go through too quickly to have an adverse effect on the games, and those learning are having fun and generally working together for a result.

I start checking stats when someone played terrible bad and most of them fall into the category: play a premium, don't care if you win since you get few xp just for joining the match. Use gold to buy free XP with them and fail your way up to higher tiers without ever learning to play a ship. A few days ago we had a Arizona that stayed all the game in the back near the CV. We tried to talk with him and he only reacted when I said I send a replay to WG and report him as a bot. Was a close game and we would have won if he just played a bit. 32% WR, 7k average damage. He has no techtree ship above tier 4 but a few T6-8 premiums.

WG doesn't discern skill on the sale of premiums, you just have to offset for them. Not calling you out, but this is a hard lesson I had to learn in WoT after 35K battles there. Folks who buy prems, and just passively derp around are part of the landscape, and it is up to me to offset. Is it right? Good for the game? Fair? Nope, but it is, what it is. Now I will still call them out (and I should stop), but the harshest language I will use at this time is "nugget", every now and again I still use "moron", (torped at close range by allies) but I do need to stop. It is negativity none of us need.

Tier VIII is just fine.  I recommend uninstalling whatever mod you are using to see everyone's stats and focus on your actions and your impact on the game.  I will openly wonder if you have the same attitude of defeat when you are on the team with all the "winners".

Those numbers sound suspiciously made up.

This.  Mods that display stats are the bane of these games.  It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy when people just give up based only on stupid craplike WTR that is easily gamed.

You want a high WTR, go to warships today, find a ship with the lowest average damage, play said ship half decently doing decent damage & you will have a high WTR.  Also, steal kills from your teammates..yay.

Skill based match makers are something bad players want, little do they know they'll just get worse and have their win rate even out.

Much agreed @SmirkingGerbil.  I generally only check out someone's stats after the match, and even then not very often.  If the player I looked up is bad, well, it is what it is.  Not everyone who plays this game desires to be average, let alone good.  A lot of people like to just "point and shoot".  If that's what you want to do, who am I to tell you otherwise, or make you feel back because you don't want to play the game to my standards.

That is how most team-based games are...  some people play for fun, some people play for stats, some people play for self improvement.  All you can do is your best in a given match and try to carry as much as possible when the whole thing goes pear shaped.

I have won a battle that I realized I statistically should have lost based on the poor stats of my team across the board and enemy stats being excellent. Did not realize this until after the battle and made the win all the better. Just best to go out there and fight to the best of your ability and then if you want after the battle you can look at the stats.
