Nerf HE range and fire chance.

 HE is still very much a problem and in my opinion is one of the main reasons BB's stay at long range. To try their best to avoid HE spam. So nerf HE range on all ships. And also reduce fire chance to 1% bonuses and skill points are more then enough to raise that higher. Nerf HE.

Remember when threads, even the low quality ones, used to have a little originality to them? 

 

Now we just get these copy + paste "nerf X because Y" threads. Sure they were always a thing but I feel like the recent ones don't even incite a chuckle or even a smile. The only thing different is the OP username. None have a distinct voice...

 

Can we get some of that old charm back?

Nerf HE, then AP spam would become an issue, and would also have to be nerfed.

Because, ya know, AP still scratches the paint job on your nice little battleships.

I remember the days when we didn't have to deal with honestly [edited] threads. Even the air cancer thread from earlier were better constructed than this.

The reason for long range standoffs, is because of good defensive positioning.
In a good defensive position, the team can effectively focus fire upon poorly coordinated advances.

So it's not the HE spam you should worry about. It's getting too far forward without an escape plan, whilst the reds aren't thinned out properly.

Apparently, he hasn't noticed that EVERYONE gets set on fire, not just BBs.

Leave HE alone, I like my potatoes fried.

You know, BB players used to say that they camped at the back of the map "because torpedoes were strong". So WG went and nerfed torpedoes. You know what happened? NOTHING. Did BBs become less passive? The answer to that question is NO. 

The only problem here is that you are making up invalid excuses for camping.

So you can take out my poor widdle cruiser in a single salvo but I'm not allowed to hit you 50 or 60 times over two or three minutes to kill you... okay... sure that sounds fair. :cap_like:

You are being dishonest here.

 

Both HE and AP are lethal to BBs up close, but at "camping" ranges HE is much more effective than AP since it relies only on hit rate. So long as there is a hit there is a chance for fire and damage.

 

The further you get the less threatening AP is since you get more time to dodge or get a good angle to mitigate AP. In contrast the threat from HE remains the same throughout all ranges (aside from the lower hit rate which AP will also suffer from.)

 

Basically what is truly keeping you from pressing forward is AP.

 

If you want a change to encourage BBs to get closer, you should petition for an AP nerf instead.

2.  Take a flag

3.  Equip a repair module

4.  Load prem expendables

I agree HE should be nerfed, but in the fire damage department. There should be a limit to the amount of damage fire can do to certain parts of the ships. It's far too easy to multiple BBs at once with my cruisers bc lack of fire damage saturation.
