Devastating strike

They suck in general but tonight a minute into a game a DD took out my undamaged ship with a single shot.  Not a torpedo but a single shot from his guns.   A DD sinks a ship with 1 shot from his guns?? The stat sheet showed ZERO hits on me but in game it gave him a devastating strike. I'm sure that to the WG staff there is no problem with this.  Maybe if I had a fifth of vodka every morning for breakfast it would make more sense to me.

Detonation. We can't prove anything else instead of that of you don't provide proof.

It is very likely a detonation.
However for a detonation to occur it requires the shot to hit your ship's magazine.  Generally this can't happen unless you're in a DD yourself, or one of the low tier cruisers.

Detonation, just run the flags... You probably got the flags too :)

DD's are the easiest to detonate

An HE shell or bomb can potentially hit the water NEXT to the ship, and hit the magazine with its splash damage.

I've Done that to another DD before. The screen shot is floating around the forums somewhere.

 

I didn't hit him once and detonated him. The detailed report read 0/11500.

 

It's kind of b s if you ask me. BUT the way that splash damaget in this game work is so overly simplified. It's actually not funny.
