It should be tier 5 onwards not tier 8 onwards. All you do WG is deny players the chance of this campaign.

Some rewards should be hard to get. Challenge yourself.

Also, it is really not hard to get up to tier 8 quickly if you focus on one line. You shouldn't rush up to tier 8 because mid-tier is where you learn to play well, but tier 8 is not a high bar to reach for a campaign.

The higher up the tiers you go, the bigger the odds are that you'll be invested financially and time-wise in the game over the long-term.  Would also be nice for there to be more T8 and 9 floating around so those tiers can get friendlier MM than constantly being put into T10 games.

Also it's not necessarily meant to be an easy get, and it's a permanent campaign so you've got time.

Only long time players and true JP enthusiasts can drift into this campaign. I just wanted to make the joke, please don't murder me. :fish_haloween:

Unfortunately barring the Atago/Takao, i'm still in T6. :fish_boom:

Yeah, thing is, you need a T8+ in 4 classes.

Yeah yeah, corrected.

Newbies complaining about having to wait to get content...

EDIT: Wait...OP has 8s, 9s and 10s...what is the reason for the complaint again??

I thought this was a permanent campaign.

It is.

Some are just too impatient to put in the work to get to the necessary tier to participate.

It's here to stay so you have time to earn a ship to participate. There is a beginner and intermediate campaigns for those not yet high tier enough, by the time your done with those you should have the ship you need.

No, you don't.  Each mission has two final repeatable tasks doable in any T8 ship of your choice.  So you can do the entire campaign in any single tier 8 ship or better.

The Honorable Service campaign was T8+, as well.  This is hardly new ground.  When the reward is a 15 pt captain with super skills, the requirements should be high.

I see no problem, here.

I think he is referring to the need to have all four classes to complete all the missions.

Well, I do, so I'm not worried about that, and if new players do have a problem with it, try going back to 2015 when there was zero content other than just playing the ships.

Point is, we've all had to wait for content in one way or another.

Not really, you're just going to pull your hair out from boredom grinding a limited number of tasks. (ninja'd by Veksha.)

May not like it, but as several have said; permanent campaign; don't sweat the difficulty. If you're currently low tier you'll get to it eventually.

Like Wuff says;  you'll get there.

If a high-tier malcontent like me can complete Honorable Service by head-down grinding, then someone who enjoys and prospers in higher tiers shouldn't have much trouble getting through the new campaign.

Frankly, the quickest way through this is probably to repeat the XP, credit, and (where available) ribbon missions at each stage, none of which carry a ship type restriction.  Then you can be a completionist to your heart's content at your own pace.  Sort of like completing the fifth stage of Honorable Service by doing the 3000 xp mission five times (which I did).

You can indeed complete all of the missions with one ship.  You need different classes to complete all of the tasks in said missions, but the additional rewards are plain in comparison to final mission awards anyway.

Considering you can simply buy a 19 point captain now, does it really matter how hard or easy it is?

I totally missed the 19-pt commander section in the Premium Shop.

Then you totally missed the fact that you can use free xp to boost captain skills now? :cap_hmm:
