A missed opertunity, with Arpeggio of Blue Steel ships

Hello!
I am here to propose an idea that might be too late to use, but perhaps not, if WG ever decides to revisit the Arpeggio of Blue Steel concept.
What I propose could of, and could still, be done would help to alleviate the dis-satisfaction that players who were not a fan of anime in general having these Arpeggio ships added to the game. This idea is to use the fact that player's who have ARP ship's dis-abled, and, (using kongou as an example) Instead of just replacing the ARP Kongou sisters be replaced by a normal in-game Kongou class, and instead have the ships accurately depict their real live counterparts. Because, in case you were not aware, each of the Kongou class ships looked quite different, with minor and significant differences to their pogada, AA armament, and secondary armament. Each of the kongou sisters in their unique versions are still all quite balanced for T5, and this special feature would help to attract historical warship enthusiasts who would love to have accurate depictions of all 4 Kongou sisters. This feature would require each ship to receive their won unique model, which would be cool, AND, for the ARP fans, could open up the window for WG to make unique models for the ARP versions of these ships to add aesthetic-only missile doors, and the sonar bulge that ARP ships all have. This change can also be made to the Myoko sisters, as I am certain their are differences between them too.

I could try to list off all the differences in the kongou sisters, with their different Pagoda's, AA, and different secondary armaments, but there is an article displaying the unique differences between the kongou sisters here which can explain the exact differences far better then I:

This new feature would:
A) Open up a window to increase how accurately the ARP ships represent their anime counterparts
B) Open up a new window to let Historical players, or players who simply want more unique ships, aswell as players who don't like anime, an interest into the ARP ships.

 

PS: I am well quite aware that such developement would surely require a new partnership between WG and Arpeggio of blue steel, ofwhich I do hope happens in the future, as there are plenty of other ARP ships to implement.

I think the main problem is that WG's busy making brand new ships in brand new tech trees (which will bring new players and more profits) instead of updating past event ships (which they just gave away for free)...

So to appease one group you propose changing the ships which would piss off the larger group that WG did the deal with Arpeggio in the first place? Sounds like a sound business plan.

 

I'm not an anime fan but I like the ships the way they are. This is not a simulator using historical ships but some don't grasp that.

You seem to suggest that my idea would piss of the ARP fans?

My idea would open up the window to firstly, give WG some incentive or motive to actually model the ARP ships as they appear in the anime, not the vague resemblance that WG has created.
Secondly, in the anime, the Arpeggio ships do accurately model the kongou sister differences, from what I can tell atleast.
Thirdly, it would remove the "Clone Wars" complaint players had about the ARP ships.

Also, I feel I must repeat myself on this note. Such changes I am very well aware would only be possible if WG were to have a new partnership with Arpeggio of Blue Steel, again. Which unfortunately is unlikely because ARP can't really make another season, because they made up the plot ignoring the source material, the manga, on everything past episode 4 or 5, whenever it was that I-400 docks at Iwo Jima. So a 2nd season would pretty much have to be completely un-cannon and made up by the producers of the anime. So, back to topic, I am well aware of the number of stars that would need to align for WG to ever go back and revisit these ships. But its perfectly possible WG could do an event around the kongou class aswell, which could lead to them revisiting the ARP kongou ships and re-use them for a kongou event where they actually model the kongou sisters as they really looked. Only players who were part of the ARP event would be able to view the kongou sisters in a ARP skin.

On this topic: I like the ships but....I don't speak Japanese. Having a young Japanese girl yell unintelligible things in my ear while I'm trying to concentrate is vexing to say the least. Is there a way to turn there voices off or to something more...normal?

I don't believe they can as the contract with Arpeggio is over.
