Hey guys, second post here, still kinda a newbie. So, I got the Gneisenau couple of days ago, and it feels really different from the Bayern. So far I like it though, considering I managed to citadel a North Carolina and torp a Nagato :cap_win:.  Also love the speed, 32 knots with top engine upgrade! That's awesome. Also, the traverse speed of the turrets seem pretty fast too.  Would like some tips how to use it and what upgrades should I get first. Thanks in advance! o7

The Gneisenau is great and loads of fun. It's fast enough to really get you in trouble though, learning when to push and when to hold back can take some time. She is also the first of the KMS BBs that really benefits from secondary build.

Mouse has a great review to get you started, she also recommend the captain and mods.

Edit: Realized LWM's review was pre captain skill changes. So here is a captain build, http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/0100000000100010000011001000100019

Speed is a nice asset, meaning you can support CA/CLs during a push. The ship does well as an opportunist striker, catching enemies off guard can allow you get close to make your secondaries guns, torpedos, and good side armor to be the most effective. The fact that this ship even has torpedos (as being the only non-premium BB having torps) gives you a lot of combat options. Discipline is key though, as a reckless charge can get you killed quickly. Also, the MM with this ship seems to get the better end of things.

My Gneisenau identifies as a destroyer. Gneis is love. Gneis is life.
