Some weeks ago i got bored from wows and went to testing steel oceans . I didnt like  the game in general and i quit after 3 days but there were 2 things that i enjoyed some much. In steel oceans. First  you can control the secondaries, and you can also control the AA. Controlling the secondaries with BBs are what was missing to make that class ships fun to play.. To make it short , i always thought to be so stupid in wows to wait between 30 seconds +/- between salvos in BBs , a little boring sometimes and doing almost nothing. In steel oceans you can make 2 salvos with the secondaries before your main guns are reloaded , so there is always fun and  intense fighting playing with BBs, and yes you can control the AA. This would be great to remove the defensive AA from cruisers and bring some skill to the game. But in that moment i thought that the wows mechanics are already really so stupid and bad in some aspects that i didnt  waste time to share this.

Now i watch a video from the new wows blitz and guess what? You can control the secondaries.

So we have a new game , without the stupid british cruisers  laying smoke , no fckn radars , or hydros i think, and we can control the secondaries,. I have no idea if wg fix the CV gameplay at blitz atm.but in the end i am already see an wows version with better mechanics. so ironic.

I actualy think there is a strong possibility of not having smoke in wows blitz because the fps.

See the video in the link.

well, I could see it working on a BB, but how in the heck do you control that many things at once with a cruiser?

In short with the dual purpose guns.

Dual purpose guns are controled by the player, this guns can be the main batery in DDS or the main battery and seconaries in some cruisers ( cleveland i am looking at you ) and only the secondaries in BBs. The other AA guns in the ship will be controled by the AI. That is how i thought it could be implemented in wows.

So as an example you are in a cleveland with all that  many guns dual purpose targeting a ship and you notice enemy sqaudrons coming close to you , you switch to AA firing mode and you will notice your guns aiming at the sky. Aim at the squadrons and shoot them , you will see the shells exploding in the sky near the squadrons creating many small smoke clouds in the sky. This actually one of the best features i saw in steel oceans.. beautiful to watch .

you can see here how it works in steel oceans.

Wasn't WG's excuse for not putting user controlled secondaries on WoWs that it would be too hard/confusing?

So its too hard when playing on a PC with a big screen, lots of buttons and a mouse.

But its easier on a little touch screen mobile device?

WG logic right there at work!

no, the excuse was that player controlled secondaries was too strong.

And I agree. It's basically any DD that wanders too close suddenly gets "poof b**** be gone!" But since it's showing up in blitz, wouldn't be surprised if suddenly it shows up in ships main, and if it does, watch the forums erupt in a s***storm.

It's a quite valid argument to be honest, just look at german BB secondaries vs a destroyer, now imagine if they had to have roughly the same accuracy as a player controlled gun, even if it was german main guns.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is...

Des Moines 203mm: 5.5s reload
Des Moines 127mm: 6s reload

How in the world am I supposed to target two different things, when my secondaries load slower than my main guns?

exactly, I mean, my broadside power on a Tirpitz is only 8x 105mm and 6x 150mm guns.
Surely that must not be equal firepower to a T6 cruiser already.

On T8+ USN BBs, it's only like I have 2x Farraguts strapped to each side. Surely that is not enough firepower already.

Umm higher tier BBs, like NC and up, it's more like having an Atlanta strapped to each side.

It is easy to get on google. I already downloaded and play few games.

Some things i noticed.

Yamato main battery range is 13km

All ships have one or 2 habilities

DDs have smoke but for short periods and speed boost.

I didn't see any radar or hydro. Thanks WG :)

Cleveland doesn't exist , Pensacola is the new tier 6.

Takao is the tier 8

Ishizuki is the tier 4 IJN BB.

A battle takes only 6 minutes , too fast IMO.

There is no spare parts ;)

There is cammo already available to purchase with credits.

6 minutes is way too fast.  WoT Blitz goes for 7 minutes and War Robots goes for 10 minutes, though the latter has up to 5 respawns.

Would be interesting to try this, I enjoy playing games while laying down on my bed.

I suspect the secondary thing is down to the aim of the game. Quicker battles that are more mix and melee, thats what Jingles had to say about the WoT Blitz anyway recently. I suspect the same may be happening here. Controllable secondaries for most BB's would be ludicrous in game, and even some cruisers would get a serious buff from it, nevermind certain CV's self defense abilities, assuming the latter is even in blitz. But blitz with a faster paced focus may actually make it work. Yamato's max rnage given above forces her into DD torp range right off the bat. That makes adequate DD defence much more balanced because her opposition has a much better chance of just lol rushing ehr and killing her.

Another things I forgot to mention.

I am running in the best graphic settings in my old Lg g2 without any lag. Waves, and other animations and ships graphics are good for a mobile device only the islands looks a little bad ATM.

Cruisers have defensive AA for 20 seconds.

There is also a reload boost for cruisers and BBs I think for small periods.

The fire extinguisher animation is awful XD.

There are quick chat commands easy to use.

You can hide the UI in the port to take those screenshots. I will try to get some carrier in the next days to see if there is any difference in the gameplay.

Np, I don't really get why the added cvs here when they never had Arty in blitz, but we'll see how it goes. The thing I noticed is a Yamato can't one shot itself

The game is way dumbed down so this is fine for their balance. I mean every ship can heal and damage models are really simple etc. etc. I dont see this coming to the main game as they would be OP.
