Hi,

I'm aware this is a Victory message for Ranked Battles, but I just got this for a Random Battle?

The match wasn't even 5 minutes old and i was about to complete my second kill, then BAM, Victory (before the last torpedo hit an Iowa for the death blow)?

I looked at the enemy team and it did not seem that they lost sufficient ships to go below zero points?

Can someone tell me what "Our Team Completed the Mission" means in Random Battles? (You'd think I knew this, but I honestly don't)

oh good you won the match, from the looks of it the enemy team didn't contested the caps very well

Honesty, I have never noticed that message - I think its the way the game suddenly ended in 4:40 that I really paid attention.

But hey even the 'non-answers' are appreciated; but my question remains.

It literally tells you the objective in the loading screen.

I always ALWAYS have the ships selected for the teams, I NEVER since CBT have had that mission tab up... guess I'll have to take a look. Thanks for the pointer!

Okay I looked... that didn't tell me anything relevant.

I'm interested in knowing what triggers the message "Our team completed the Mission" in a Random Battle, as opposed to a points win or kill all ships victory?

Most likely your team brought the other team to zero victory points.  It's one of the most forgotten victory conditions, so don't sweat everyone else's negative comments.  If the other team didn't cap anything, and only sunk one of your ships, that is my best guess as to what happened.

Remember that losing a ship means your team loses victory points.  If your team doesn't do something to make points (take a cap, sink an enemy), then your low amount of starting points quickly becomes zero.

Some call it the mercy rule.

This is the answer I was looking for - I know you can kill the enemy team to zero points but didn't realize the message and that condition were linked - thanks DreadRaybo!

Umm, your team killed 7 ships while only losing 1 in under 5 mins. How did you surmise they couldn't have reached 0 pts?

I only said I wasn't sure if that was enough ships, since ships are allotted points and the points vary. Just being honest about it is all.

There are two missions in a Random battle: score 1000 points or kill all of the enemy ships.  A "hidden" mission is getting the enemy team to 0 points.  Just another way of saying what others have already said.  Also, losing a ship costs points for the losing team and adds point to the destroying team. and your team "traded" more profitably.  Does interfere with trying to get a decent amount of XP and/or credits  if the enemy zeroes out too soon.

BTW, that was a really quick win!
