Conqueror

457mm guns were disabled (whether it will be removed or become an upgrade remains unknown). Conqueror now uses 4x3x419mm main guns, and its dispersion is reverted to keep in line with other British BBs. However, her firing range and firing arc remain unchanged.

 

Global Changes

Damage Control Party Mod I,Spotter Mod I were moved to the first slot.

 

Engine Boost Mod I,Defensive AA Fire Mod I,Hydroaccoustic Search Mod I,Surveillance Radar Mod I moved to 4th slot (based on 6-slot).

 

Smoke Generator Mod I now -5% to the smoke life instead of -12%.

 

Japanese DD

 

Japanese DDs now all use a same Torpedo Reload Booster instead of two 30sec/5sec variants. This new unified consumable will cut the reload time of torpedo tubes to 8 seconds.

 

Soviet DD

53-39 mod. 3 torpedo was removed from Khabarovsk. Now she uses only ET-46 torpedo, but the torpedo detectability was reduced from 1.1 km to 0.6 km.

 

Grozovoi's basic surface detectability reduced from 8.29 km to 7.62 km; main gun RoF increased from 4.2 sec/round to 4 sec/round.

 

Tashkent's B-hull HP increased from 19600 to 21800.

 

Ognevoi's B-Hull quintuple torpedo reload time reduced from 115 sec to 92 sec.

 

USN CA

Indianapolis Surveillance Radar's ranges increased from 8.5 km to 9.9 km, duration unchanged. Basic surface detectability reduced from 13.86 km to 12.7 km.

 

Tier 1

Bougainville Main gun RoF increased from 6 sec/round to 4.8 sec/round.

Orlan Main gun RoF increased from 5 sec/round to 4.5 sec/round.

Probably the recent 6.8 changes.  SEA is the only one with an updated list ATM though.

Again, only SEA server has posted the data; but they've been mostly consistent.


As far as the Conqueror goes, this wasn't exactly surprising.  Downgrade the accuracy some in exchange for having 12x guns.  Still, she has HE/4 pen advantage and RNAP (both normalization and short fuse), so now we have a British Montana with:

  • RNAP
  • Hyper Repair Party
  • Nearly half the rudder shift times of its tiermates
  • Radar.

This is insane.

 

The remaining weaknesses she has are:

  • Poor AA and secondary range
  • Low HP
  • Poor Armor

 

However, I feel Conqueror should have been based on the L3 design instead, but reducing the traverse to 60s while still able to use the heavy 18" shells, or the N3 design with a split citadel, but using the light 18" shells in exchange for all that extra armor and survivability.  This is assuming that either design would still have had buffed rudder shift and Radar, and predominantly mid-range AA, and poor secondary range.

 

That "Khab nerf" doesn't seem like much of one.

 

As for Indy, they've improved her gimmick to make her more of a radar picket ship as I had expected.  Increased concealment and increased Radar range.

 

IJN DDs being standardized to 8 sec reloads on the Torpedo reload consumable is a token attempt to make their torpedoes a thing again.  I do wonder however if their duration was increased or kept the same.

I suspect conqueror was proving insufficiently capable vs other BB's whilst murdering cruiser too hard and this is an attempt to make her a bit less twisted in one direction.

You still have to give up smoke for TRB on Kagero and Yugumo, I suppose. But 8 second reload instead of 30 makes it more tempting.

I don't play the Khaba, but having played against it that doesn't seem like much of a nerf to me.  It's not the torpedoes I normally have to worry about.

The new Conqueror is going to be hilarious.  A gigantic glass cannon in the form of a British Montana.  This is some next-level cruiser abuse (and probably DD abuse considering the HE/4 and short fuse AP).  In this form; she's more of a giant battlecruiser than a true battleship.

 

Pros:

  • 12x 419mm cannons (roughly 16.5")
  • RNAP (both Normalization and Short Fuse)
  • HE/4 Pen (not even KM BB main guns get this; only KM cruisers and KM secondaries)
  • Hyper Repair Party (RN Cruiser type)
  • Superior Rudder Shift (vs Tiermates and some cruisers)
  • Radar

 

Cons:

  • Terrible Armor
  • Low HP (lowest amongst T10 BBs)
  • Subpar AA (predominantly mid-range AA)
  • Low secondary ranges (either lowest or second lowest in tier; likely to compensate for all the main gun buffs)

 

419mm gun performance:

σ - 1.8

 

419mm HE MarkII

Damage - 7200

She was actually performing beyond OP, against all the classes.

Ironically, the new direction shifts Conqueror's focus more towards anti-cruiser and anti-DD, with a side of BB harassment.  12x419mm cannons with BOTH RNAP and HE/4 pen.  Sure, the firestarting chance is "nerfed"  to 48% instead of the 63% of the 18", but RoF and traverse remain unchanged.  So does the fact that she still has a waterline citadel rather than Montana's former above-water citadel.

 

She's plainly going to be a pain in the aft to deal with as a cruiser, and practically a hazard for most DDs what with having Radar and high rudder shift (and RNAP and HE/4).

Going to be just like every other Tier 10 Battleship, Focus the [edited] down and kill it. I hear Fire is pretty effective when a IJN-Flat instant-nuke button isn't about (CV seeing as it's going to go over your head anyway)
