Yes I know.. others are already down to Rank 5 - ya for them. I'm an average player but I have noticed a few things. Here's some screen shots: Spoiler I need to up my DR but there it is so far. Spoiler My Fuso stats Spoiler My Budyonny stats... Spoiler And my Bayern... So Fuso, Budyonny and Bayern I do great. My Spee, Shinome (only one match heh heh) and NewMex play was horrid, i mean absolutely rotten. I'd be interested to hear if your ship list is anything similar - tia fyc

So far I have done ok, nothing special, in Warspite, Graf Spee and Cleveland so I think I will stick with those three.

86 [NBNG] Buzzardsluck Members 418 posts 17,312 battles Report post #6 Posted July 3, 2017 Made it to level 13 the first 2 days. with a over about a 50K damage. Been downhill ever since the "potato gazette printed Ranked started" and "I am a genius who can do it on my own player started". Lucky to get 1 in 5 good games. Just doing it now to rank up another Captain. Hopefully tonight the good players will return. If not back to random or maybe experiment with my newly bought Warspite. Game has too many bad players. A method has to be introduced instead of the karma nonsense, where the team can vote some negative action against a really bad player.

Perhaps they got tired of us asking for them, eh? Man... that's a serious grind from 11 down. 24 stars (11 to 6) 21 stars (5 to 1) Just checked into Rank 11 today... have one month, three days to complete 45 stars for rank 1. Anyone else think that's a pretty long winning streak? ;-0 tiafyc

3,999 [V_KNG] Herr_Reitz Beta Testers 13,205 posts Report post #12 Posted July 6, 2017 Yup - What I find is there are a select group of ships folks seem to be playing - but each of us plays differently, just enough, that we just have to find what's right for us. I also keep one or two in reserve should I hit a wall... or if I see most of the ships like mine are doing really well, I might change up. But I don't do that too often ;-) Congrats and remember the general rule... lose one, it's a toss to go or stop. Loose two in a row, walk away, take a break. All the best
3,999 [V_KNG] Herr_Reitz Beta Testers 13,205 posts Report post #13 Posted July 6, 2017 Made Rank 10 tonight - two great teams, two great matches, back to back - both in the Fuso. First match I got roasted but for a good cause. Even though I was last on our team, I scored better than first on their team. Second match 58K okay, finished third. Thanks to everyone on both teams. I'm gonna tell you these were almost ideal ranked battles. Teamwork. Everyone knew the goal and worked to it. So a public thanks to both green teams. With no statics whatsoever to back this up, my feeling is that it has been pretty smooth sailing, with some bad Cleveland games resulting in lost stars. For the most part, I have had a good time with ranked this season

3,999 [V_KNG] Herr_Reitz Beta Testers 13,205 posts Report post #17 Posted July 15, 2017 bummers... i switched to Leander ;-) Let me tell you what I've seen. Loss after loss because someone doesn't like the team plan so they camp or go off on their own. "There's plenty of time to win" but red's within 60 pts of winning. Two ships - one at 12, one at 14km away. To give us some points we need a kill to halt that 60pts. Yup, fire at the full hp 12km ship instead of the 14km FUSO with a couple HUNDRED points MAX hp. Tell them to fire at FUSO and get STFU in return. Of course they die in the next ten seconds without doing anything to win. Sigh. Last match, we were leading. Our one and only dd thinks it would be a good idea to get behind the reds so he goes oh, 15km out on his own. Of course you see "da*n" in chat when he gets one-shot by the cruiser he didn't see just behind the island. Trying to cap out to stay in a match we "were" winning and what do they do... they drive out of cap to "chase" the reds. We lose. Bottom line: people are playing ranked the same way they play random and coop - without thinking about winning. Or strategy. Or the team. Team play is a foreign concept to WoWS players. Don't know what can be done - I ask every ranked season if there is any good ideas on how to change this but nobody has yet offered up a good solution. So I got back to tier 10. I'm going back to my french ships!

3,999 [V_KNG] Herr_Reitz Beta Testers 13,205 posts Report post #19 Posted July 16, 2017 Yup... a whole lot of folks wish that were possible, from what I read on the forums. What I (and maybe others) need to remember is the forumites are what, ten percent of the players? Which means ninety percent are basically out of the loop as to well, things like techniques, what each ship type ought to do in ranked, that sort of stuff. Maybe for the sake of the game they'll figure out there really is nothing wrong with a few safe harbors. And maybe they'll get clan wars working.

It's pretty sad when both DD's are yelling at the BB's DON'T PUSH WE ARE WINNING and guess what? They all pushed one at a time and got deleted .... well now we are losing. Anyhow this were my stats are so far. They look really sad compared to Season 6.
3,999 [V_KNG] Herr_Reitz Beta Testers 13,205 posts Report post #21 Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) Looks like you need to abandon that Hatsu for the 'buki or New Mex. ;-) Heck I'm at 92 games! Yow! Zounds! No kidding it's been trying to break through tier 10 that's killed me. Here's my stats to date: The first four ships are my best. Note the Leander in there with only a 9pt commander! I actually got a double-strike (kill) in ranked with her today! I have almost nine battles in my "bottom tier ships" that have ZERO victories. ZERO. The Cleveland is one of them. So I actually seem to be doing better using cruisers when looking at destruction ratios and victory percents but my Fuso still has the best average. Good luck man.. just set your sights on doing better than me - you got twice as many matches to get there! Edited July 17, 2017 by Herr_Reitz

57 [WDWL] dwightlooi Members 163 posts 18,978 battles Report post #23 Posted July 18, 2017 (edited) Made it to Rank 6 in the Hatsuharu. Started with the Fubiki but switched to the Hatsu. Stealth, agility and faster guns are more useful than three more torps. Season 7 is far less frustrating than Season 6 -- at least there is no "pay to radar your a$$" Belfast in this season. No, tricks, just try not to die early as a DD. Don't push, don't be reckless, live, spot and engage only if it is safe to do so. Spotting and smoking your team mates is key. The side that is out of DDs first usually loses because being blind makes the BBs and cruisers sitting ducks. Hatsu and Farragut are the best DDs for this session, but I try not to switch. Once you are used to the velocity and lead of the IJN guns or the USN guns, switching throws you off your game for a while. 8 brutus_666 Members 63 posts 1,432 battles Report post #24 Posted July 23, 2017 I don't understand how people rank up in this ranked thing.......you end up in soooooo many battles where people are just horrible, dont communicate, dont work together, run and hide, dont capture objectives......whatever......you can win a few but my experience has been you have just as many bad battles that you net zero progress
3,999 [V_KNG] Herr_Reitz Beta Testers 13,205 posts Report post #25 Posted July 23, 2017 Well over the ranked seasons - some of which were really rank - a rule of thumb came about. It is very tough to adhere to as we really want to progress, but it goes something like this: Is it a win? Yes - play again. No - is it the first loss? Yes - play again. No - it is the second loss in a row - give it a break. Give it a break means get up, walk away, take a break, something completely different. I also like to drop the server connection after the second loss. I don't quit the game, I just drop the connection. Thing is you generally do not want to accumulate more than two straight losses in a day. Otherwise you typically start spiraling down the drain. Took me nigh on to a week to get back to 10.2 so I took a week off. May get back to it this week. However, when I look down the road, know what kind of matches I can have based on past experience, I ask myself is it really, really worth it to get to rank one? For me the answer has been nope. not worth it. Too much of everything to proceed forward without any further "safe harbors". If ranked was one person against bots for example, it might be worth pushing forward without that safety net. Having experienced the extreme swings in team skills however, it really comes down to "can I always finish top of my team?" Admittedly, I cannot. I get there time to time but not every, single, match.
