US votes to create a sixth branch of the Armed Forces, the Space Corps

Let the Star Wars begin.

 

After a lengthy debate, the Congress votes to approve a sixth branch of the Armed Forces, the Space Corps.  The votes appear bipartisan, which is a rarity these days.  

 

UFO theorists are having a field day.  Its hard to justify creating a space corps given today's environment and just for Russia or China alone, so something may really be up.  Do the government know something we don't know about?  The Solar Warden?  The TR-3B?
