For those of you that are feeling down and beaten up by the latest Operation 'RAPTOR', I just want to say, don't give up just yet, after 3 tries and 3 losses, the forth was a win and my team was complete Randoms, yet we managed to get it done, 5 Stars!

Hang in there, its a difficult one for sure, but its not impossible.  Just stick together, focus fire, cover each other, protect your objectives and ships, you can do it!  Good luck out there!!

It's difficult? It has by far the lowest amount of enemies that spawn,

If you know the spawns, read the winning conditions and have at least one CV it's not to hard. You just have to stick together and focus fire. It's hard at the first time if you don't know the spawns or you have the usual yolo players.

Yeah, the tactics for winning this operation with 5 stars are pretty simple.  The great majority of your team should stay close to the CV and the Liberty ships.  Any BBs on your team should ALWAYS stay with the CV and Liberty ships.  They're too slow to get back to the task group in time if they run off after some enemy.

After taking out the first 3 enemy ships, you'll need to detach a single ship (no more than 2) to head to the SE area to deal with whatever shows up there.  (This is helped greatly by having a CV on the team.)  Killing every DD you spot ASAP is critical to earning a 5 star win.  I played a Farragut when I earned a 5 star win.  It was very useful in spotting enemy ships, and running down and killing enemy DD's.

Don't forget that one ship need to reach the final point before the Raptor is there.

Nine losses, one pathetic single star win using Budyonny...

Switched to Ryujo; bombed and torped the living daylights out of all the bots I could, using location lessons learned through glorious people's sacrifices made by Budyonny, and had a five-star win first time out.

Last night went in completely cold (and rusty, I haven't played ships in almost two weeks).  It was a cake walk with a good CV player on the team.  I did 83K in damage in my Cleveland and finished middle of the pack on the team.  I stayed near the CV to protect it from air attack and never had to shoot at a single enemy plane.

Honestly, it's really pathetic to not at least get a minimal win on the Raptor scenario. The "hard" part is playing well enough as a TEAM to get a 5 star win. And that shouldn't really be that hard. And yet some teams are so bad that they get beaten by the bots. That's pathetic. Truly pathetic.

Maybe I was lucky in that my team knew the operation, but I took an AS Ryujo's, and we did it 5 stars on the first go, losing only one teammate, who was mad at himself for making a mistake. Could probably do it with strike ryujo, but I figure my first go in each operation should be AS, in case there's a lot of planes.

That's all I've used is the Strike Ryujo. If I sink the CVs, then no more planes. Most trouble I've had is the CV in the south, and that stupid destroyer smoking it up. Even with that; I had more trouble in Killer Whale; mostly because people would yolo out and die, instead of  letting the CV strike deep, and then keeping together and focus-firing the enemies as they tried to get close.

Pulled off 5 stars with a total random team yesterday, losing only our Minekaze along the way. We did so well together we considered forming a clan right then and there. xD

Took 5 tries with randoms, but the last attempt was a 5-star run with no losses. I made sure to compliment everyone.
