During the Battle of the River Plate, Graf Spee laid a smoke screen, so we know it had this capability. To be true to the historical ship, Graf Spee in WoWS should have the smoke consumable.

We alteady have a repair consumable. Do we need another?

And so do BBs. This game gives little to historical aspects, and is just a game. Graf Spee doesn't need a smoke consumable.

Exactly. Graf Spee is fine without it. Otherwise it would be one trolly ship.

It's so bad in a tier 8 game it needs some love.

So div up with friends and go for tier 6.

Is it going to be a choice for ranked? I think not.

So what does Tier 8 have to do with this? She can do well in Graf Spee if you play correctly.

It's better than other T6's, it leads the T6 cruiser ranking with highest DPG and WR.

Basically every ship in WWII had the ability to lay smoke. We don't need more smoke in this game.

Graf Spee is fine, arguably OP as is.

Graf Spee is a strong Cruiser, she can definitely hold her own at T6 and T7, with the proper player also at T8. No buffs needed.

All ships had the capability to make smoke, though not all had the dedicated chemical smoke that was usually found on DDs and some cruisers.  So no, I don't see any need to add smoke to Graf Spee, she does fine as-is.  Probably not a good choice for ranked, tho, unless you are good at getting the best from it.

Now then, consider this.

Graf Spee deploys smoke screen and uses repair, there is no way to stop it. Like come on, barely any HP heft and the ship heals and there is nothing you can do about it.

Is it a large destroyer or a pocket battleship?

It's rather helpless against destroyers unless they stray into secondary range. Countering destroyers is an important cruiser role in the game.

Outsmart them. Use HE, angle, and kneo how to dodge torpedoes.

During the battle of Jutland, the Royal Navy refused to follow the German High Seas Fleet and continue to engage them because of a fear amongst the commanding Admirals that the Germans would deploy sea mines while running for home.

Should every DD and CL be equipped with a hundred or so sea mines to be deployed as desired?
