Graf Zeppelin's model is too small

Greetings all,

 

Just noticed a modeling error on WG's behalf while comparing GZ to Yamato.... she's too short.

 

Notice that GZ and Yamato are the same lengths...

 

 

 

Now, as launched GZ was a few inches shy of 862' long, so AS LAUNCHED she was indeed the same length as Yamato (862').

 

HOWEVER!!!!

 

GZ later received an Atlantic bow, adding 17' to her length and making her 878' long.

 

WG modeled GZ with an Atlantic bow but gave her the length she had as launched with a straight bow.

Its not the end of the world, but still, you'd think WG would have done their homework. 

 

Still, I am hopeful that GZ is still a WIP as she currently lacks hull textures.

Well, it has something to do with WG's game engine, something something view. If you look at Lexington compared to Colorado, that's not how she would be IRL, by a long stretch (there's a pic on the forums and I know it).

This makes me wonder if WG's gonna do with what they did with Missouri and have us grind with Atlanta for months on end in order to get enough XP to use ~$120 worth of doubloons to convert it to Free XP to purchase her.

 

Meanwhile, Shinano's still crying in the corner about how she's still not allowed back in after being kicked out in early development.

This is not in wows though, this is in 3Dbuilder, the red boxes around the ships show the extremes visible dimensions of the object (in this case, length and width). The models are the same length, there is no funky camera play at work here.

I think models are built to be like that in WoWs are the same when extracted.

Sorry, I was tired.  Still am.  What I meant to imply was that I assumed from the title it was a standard complaint with no substance.  Then I saw it was from someone who actually knows what they're talking about, so I took it seriously.

Why did you have to specifically use the Atlanta to grind the Missouri?  I don't recall that requirement.  Did 2/3rds of mine in a Gearing.

Download the OBJ models from gamemodels3d and then assemble them with 3dbuiler... takes about 10 minutes per ship.

What the hell is an Atlantic Bow? I mean, I can see the pictures, but to someone who knows nothing of ships, it makes no sense.
