A suggestion that is already available in War Thunder ground/naval forces. It would be nice when shooting any main gun rounds to said target a small PIP camera window will show a close up of the targeted ship and see the shells that hit the ship in relation to the ships armor values. This will assist on two things.

1. For those shooting at least mid range or more, it will see a closer look where the rounds are landing without forcing the player to track the shells "Z key" or stay zoomed in helping the player stay situationally aware to other tasks.

2. Reduce the number of complaints players provide the dev team so or so shell hit this area of the ship when you look closer hit slightly above or lower the different armor values that warrant the said effect.

Before WT introduced this feature a lot of players complained of shotty ballistics in ground forces guns but after the feature, a number of complaints went down as players got a better understanding on where the rounds are landing.

Just a small suggestion to help reduce unnecessary bug hunting and complaints and improve overall gameplay for the player base to help focus on other tasks. This feature can be enabled and disabled in the settings menu for those of us that would not want to have this feature enabled.

So, which of the nine to twelve rounds in a typical salvo are you most interested in?  We can pretty much guarantee they won't all land around your pip camera site.

Unfortunately OP he's right. In that game it works due to the one gun one shell being fired. This game has multiple shells flying in the air at any given time. Can you imagine what'd happen with a ship like Akizuki?

Good points. I'm a main BB and CV player so I can how this would be difficult to tailor if playing a DD or Cruiser that can spam shells.
