Trying to make up my mind for Ranked...

I know what to use in each of the ship classes, but I have having hard time deciding between. Fuso and Bayern...

Which one is the better Ranked ship? Guess it's a question of does Firepower or durability perform better in Ranked?

Or should I possibly get New Mexico, although armor that one has always been so soft when I have fought against those lol.

The Fuso and Bayern are not bad ships its just a question of which one you can do better in. Nobody here is going to be able to make a personal call like that without knowing you better. The NM is not a great call when people can bring the Arizona.

Play whatever you have in your port that is allowed.

If someone whines about your choice, so what, all T6 ships are eligible.

I just wish I knew what happens when all the ships are same tier since you are either lower, middle, or higher tier of Randoms which changes things such as how much a player will risk. If it turns into all out brawl Bayetn is easy choice, but if they are longer range fights then Fuso.

Play your favorite ship from your favorite line. If you have more than one, rotate through them as you feel the need. If you can solo well with a ship, bringing it to Ranked will require far less adjustment than bringing a "recommended" ship with which you are less proficient and enjoy playing less than others.

Of course, Ranked itself requires an adjustment in play, one that many can't seem to make.

All the T6 BB are viable - every single one of them. Pick the one you like the best.

TBH looking at your stats (sorry) why not go with Bucky (Fubuki)? She's a good girl and you have a decent record with her. DDs are hugely important in ranked and typically have a much greater impact than a lumbering and often blind BB.

At the higher rank expect smoke based pot shot fests. Low rank expect stupidity.

The top brackets tend toward chess-like matches. The middle brackets showcase a lot more teamwork than will ever be found in Random, but people get frustrated and either can't or won't see it. Lower brackets are where people learn the basics of Ranked play.

I can only say so much as I'm just starting ranked this season...

But between all the T6 BBs Fusō manages one thing the others can't, RoF. Between the 30s of Warspite and Bayern, to the super long 34.4 and 35 of NM and AZ. Dunk is a little different, sure you have a fast reload but they are smaller guns, and she has less of them.

Just my thinking.

They all have their advantages. NM and AZ are very strong against BBs, AZ also against everything else due to her accuracy, Bayern has the tank role firmly in her corner, etc.

Wish I could skip to the higher brackets then since I love playing chess, lol I play in nation chess tournaments periodically.

It's the stupidity with a touch of luck that confuses me a lot since their is often no pattern what so ever to their movements.

Oh sure, I wasn't trying to say that the others didn't have their advantages of course. I was just giving my take on the T6 BBs in question and giving the OP another thinking point on the BBs.

Bayern, NM, and Arizona are brawling monsters with tough armor.

Bayern and Warspite have large guns that can overmatch all bows at T6.

Fuso has insane DPM and range.

Dunk has.... actually I'm not sure? Speed I guess... dunno I'm not a fan but I won't knock it either.

Yeah Fubuki will be put to use since I do well with the stealth and the 3 sets of Torpedo launchers.

Lol I should have recorded some of my battles in stock Fubuki since out of desperation I would hit speed boost as soon as I entered detection range on a BBs flank then at about 4km I turned hard launched my Torpedoes then hit smoke on my way out just in case the BB did not eat all the fish lol.

My only concern will be air power since that spoils those hit and run attacks in a hurry is if my movements are being spotted every meter I move.

I highly doubt CV will be much of a thing. The Cleveland's mere existence will make playing a CV a sketchy idea to say the least. That ship has enough AA to make T8 CV sweat.

As with every Ranked season, start with what you think will work.  Then, adjust as the meta develops.  This advice won't help you prepare in advance, however.  I plan to rely on Arizona as my BB, Leander and maybe Cleveland as my CL, and Shinonome and maybe Anshan for my DD.  But, things may change as I have other options.

Well, crap.  I have to agree with aethervox.  :Smile_ohmy:

Yeah that is a good point and players will use a lot of clevelands for the fire damage and out of fear of air attacks.

I've been practicing on the Farragut and I've had Fubuki forever. But I think I'm just going to Fuso up. That's one of my favorites and I'm pretty good in her.

Neither, take the Arizona into battle. :Smile_izmena:

I do not have one of those since I have not been able to get enough Doubloons saved up yet. :Smile_sad:

Seems like a very nice ship though, maybe someday I will be able to get her.

You can avoid CVs entirely in Ranked by hitting ESC and waiting a few minutes whenever there are two of them in queue, and I unfortunately recommend doing so. Ranked tends to attract two types of CV players: the superb and those who don't know they're going to get destroyed every match. Every time you enter a match with CVs in Ranked, you're gambling that you're going to get the really good player on your team, so it's best not to gamble. That may very well change in the future, but it's good policy right now.
