Consumables Should ALL Scale or Not at All

Why do only certain consumables scale with tier?

 

Hydro, Radar, Heal, AA, and float fighters all get better per tier. Well to be fair float fighters only get more durable per tier and Heal is based off percentage, oh which ships get more of per tier.

 

In the meantime Torpedo reload, Smoke, Boost, and Spotter planes don't scale at all.

 

How about some consistency here? We should either keep Hydro and Radar in their initial introduction ranges, or have the non scaling consumables also get better per tier.

Defensive fire scales with tier? I didnt think that was the case...

 

Also smoke does scale, the smoke emits longer and lasts longer at higher tiers.

I think it's the case of the AA being amplified by DF getting better with tier

But the consumable does not change, which is the relevant part to this thread.

You are incorrect regarding Smoke Generators not scaling.  The duration of smoke clouds increases as one goes up the tiers, and in the case of USN DDs the duration of the smoke generation increases as well.

Radar only scales for the USN. Smoke absolutely scales with tier. These are big details to miss for a thread that purports to criticize consumable balance.

More to the point, it's a foolish premise that they all should scale if any do. Using heavy-handed rules to balance a game is greatly inferior to allowing ones' self to make each decision separately.

Considering I made an entry into the Wiki editor contest about AA and the DF consumable, the multiplier does not scale with tier.
