Has Aegis been updated? Seems tougher today...

Yesterday played four matches, got five stars in all four. The final wave consisted of 3 CVs which appeared first, and then, in the northeast side of the map, a couple of Ishis and some cruisers.

Not today. Today BEFORE the CVs appeared three BBs approached from the north, Amagi, Fuso, and Kongo, along with the gaggle of T4-5 ships. Much tougher. Didn't get 5 stars.

Has it been updated? Or was I just lucky yesterday?

I noticed that yesterday night. But it was not consistent. The game after, it was normal again.

I've played about 10 games of Aegis by now, and I've seen the Amagi, Fuso, Kongo wave once only. Did you happen to leave any ships alive from the first few waves of enemies when those high tier BB's spawned?

Yes, one ship was alive, a Furu escorting the Liberty ships. That was a serious problem, the Liberty ships followed it south away from the base, and the red wave of T4-5 ships was able to get in between them and the base. A loss.

The one time it happened for me, it was the 2nd wave Ishizuchi from 4 Line that survived. We didn't bother killing him since he was stuck behind the island, so we moved on. We killed the 5 escort ships that sail alongside the Liberty ships, but then the Amagi, Fuso, and Kongo spawned. We still won however, but it was the first time ever that I died in Aegis :Smile_teethhappy:

The Ishizuchi from the beginning surviving was the only outlying thing in comparison to my other games, so I thought it was possibly that which caused the higher tier ships to spawn..?

That's a possibility. I will be alert for that....

Ship types and numbers are definitely changing from game to game, first few times the fist wave were cruisers, now I've seen up to 4 BBs in the first wave and variations each game.

Have seen the same as Taichunger in the thrid wave a few times too, but not all the time.

It's good as the intial iteration was far too easy

I don't think they actually made it harder, I know there's a lot of variance in regards to what ships/tiers appear in what waves

You probably won't ever see the same spread of enemies twice

That happened in PTS as well.  I think it's likely dependent on when other ships get killed.  Kind of like whether you got a CV to protect or kill in Newport op.

Only played in Ryujo so far; four stars in first game...

Starting with the second game; when each wave gets well in hand, my aircraft were already heading to where I knew the next wave would appear. Hitting as many ships as possible in turn as far out as possible has worked out rather well so far.

Don't think any of the teams I've been on have left anything alive in the early waves yet.

Aegis is still the same, got 5 stars no problem today.  Used Cleveland this time instead of Perth where I got my first 5 stars, even did my same Northwest / North / Northeast Route as I did with Perth, though easier this time since my Cleveland was AA Spec.

My team brought two T5 DDs so we quickly collapsed, and I was the last ship left. So I let two of the convoy escorts live. Sure enough, the Amagi, Fuso, and Kongo appeared.

I think the speculation above is correct. If any ship from the convoy survives, the impossible BBs arrive.

In last week's event I saw an Izumo spawn, wonder if the same could happen this week.
