Thought I'd see how much players like flooding they can repair, or torp damage that usually cannot be healed back.

Which would you prefer for DD/CV torp powerup or powerdown?

Boosted torp damage w/ smaller flooding chance, or reduced torp damage w/ more flooding chance?

I don't mind flooding so much since rarely get torped with my DC on CD, but esp. in my BBs, I'd prefer less upfront torp damage so I can repair the flooding. The reduced damage would be convenient in my cruisers and DDs.

Even less vision range on torps, maybe speed buff

Go ahead and nerf damage and flooding, i dont care about those.  I'd rather hit ping pong torpedoes than miss nukes.

A good DD can effectively flood any enemy effortlessly if he times their target's DC right. I've yet to see someone survive a flood without using it, so maybe reducing the amount of time a flood effects a ship?  Unless that's the whole point of  "use DC or die"

Also kinda a shower thought, but I guess it's relevant to this post

I've been curious if ships should be able to passively and slowly recover health from flood damage. This would represent pumps and other damage countermeasures doing their job over time.

However, 'a good DD' can effectively flood an enemy effortlessly if he times it right

- is more than countered by an 'average player' not even getting hit by the torpedo by using the screen, spotters, fighters, hydro, RPF, minimap and the old WASD.

I think CV torps are in a pretty good place, although a Kaga going up against a CV that isn't good with/doesn't have fighters has a disturbingly high alpha strike.

I think it would be interesting to let ships choose between high alpha low flooding and low alpha high flooding torpedoes.

I'd gladly take less alpha damage and flooding chance in exchange for an increased hit rate on torpedoes.

Compared to fire, flooding the the empty calorie of damages. They don't stack. So no matter how many floods you get on one ship, only one will do DOT at the same time. Torps hits are spaced out so much, floods are almost always repaired right away.

I lost count how many times I ended up with over a dozen floods in a match resulting in zero damage.

So I want more direct damage. Unless WG changes it to allow floods to stack.

id be ok with a massive reduction in damage and flooding chance if we could reload faster and hit more often.

I'd love torps that do only 2K damage a hit but reload in like 20 seconds. Those would be the grins for charging a BB, cause he'd have to melt me fast! :Smile_teethhappy:
