Seriously, these ships are worthless to play now. HE or AP lol pens them all the time. Might as well not even have armor. Guns are ok when they hit, but on average you do about the same damage as a CA and the CA has 3x your rate of fire. Texas has her AA which is nice, but utterly worthless when you dish out 5k dmg and by the time your reloaded the enemy CA has done 10k to you in HE damage. Not to mention fires on top of that. These two ships need some serious love all around, they are just sad right now...

Meh, 120,000 damage speaks for itself.(I've done that amount in a single match in Texas before) I'm not a Unicum, either.

If you cannot deal more damage in New York or Texas compared to a cruiser, you're probably not going do well in any other comparable battleship, to be honest.

Texas is the one BB I can almost guarantee at least one insta-deleted cruiser per match with. A full salvo is devastating.

Sometimes, the problem begins with you, and not the environment in which you find yourself.

Rofl! Oh my gosh, I got a good laugh on this one. Texas and the New York are fine as is. If you are only getting 5k per salvo on ships you really need to think about how you are playing them.

Texas and New York do have fairly deficient armor and need to angle carefully to avoid getting their citadels gutted by other BB's, but if you're consistently getting outgunned by cruisers you are probably making mistakes with both your positioning and aim.

With BBs, especially the BBs with that many main guns follow these easy steps...:cap_haloween:

A. Have all guns turned on the most likely side you will face enemy on do you can give full broadside fire.

B. Load the AP ammo

C. Now keep an eye out for some clueless Cruiser or BB that is saying with their entire side facing you...

D. Let loose with all main guns and let the AP fire rip through enemy Citadels.

( when giving broadside salvoes at enemy be sure to be angled so your guns can fire, but you are not sitting there with your side at 45° angle to them...)

One thing Texas does have is major AA which keeps you safe from the air and can get you the Clear Skies Award.

Texas doesn't need a buff (it's a premium, you bought it as is, didn't you?), but NY could seriously use a dispersion buff. At T5 it has the lowest average damage and worst win rate, and in fact Nassau at T3 does nearly as much average damage (two weeks data, 32K vs 30K). A tweak to her sigma would really help.

New Yorp was this terrible letdown after the awesomeness of Wyoming...

...then I purchased Texas; and did pretty good in it...

...when I went back and played New York again; (beside the Texas thing; also after A LOT of other battleship experience,) I decided New York wasn't so bad after all.

If you put the "AA module" on the NY she does pretty well herself.

The only thing I missed on low-tier USN BBs compared to their IJN counterparts was the extra range. Now that it's been normalized with detection, I don't think either of them are lacking.

Both Texas and New York have been power crept pretty heavily since the introduction of German BB's, but they are still serviceable ships.

Their only issue to me is that they suffer hard when being uptiered into T7 matches.  They definitely aren't as transitional as their German counterparts.

As I have found, NY and Texas, are not as bad as I was hearing when I got to NY in the tech tree. It was a decent grind, and the Texas has that monstrous AA to keep her relevant.

Glad you all love the Texas - I've been spoiled playing ships with main batteries that actually turn this century, even after all the mods/skills applied they still turn like they're stuck in drying concrete. The bigger issue for me is how they perform when up-tiered. You cannot keep up with your team mates. Failure to keep up with your team makes you a camper or solo player, both prime targets for aircraft and destroyers.

I'd be up for a bit of a buff on those turrets; nothing radical but a couple seconds faster rotation, yeah. I wish she could go a few more knots but I know, or am pretty sure, neither one of those changes will happen. ;-)

badgrammar funny you can put an awful lot of junk in here... maybe it will be a new trend eh? Put one word in the main message, then do an edit and fill this up. Weird...
