Accurate guns and 16 torpedoes, (more than anything else the rest of the way up the line,) makes it just fine as far as I'm concerned. Guns that can't seem to hurt a fly and pathetic torpedo armament combine to make a ship I couldn't possibly care less about. Personally prefer Perth; at least it's smoke is useful for something beside drawing torpedoes like flies to you-know-what, like Leander's does. When DDs get to roll up to a CL like this, they cannot be respected. That's what you have to look forward to with Emerald. The guns are absolutely worthless, the armor is just as worthless, and the heavy torpedo loadout is short ranged. You know your shells are worthless when Pensacola easily bounces Emerald's shells.
