There are so many "the game needs fixing" topics on the forums anymore, but I think that it bears mentioning that WoWs is actually a good game that does far more right than it does wrong. I'm sure that we all have tweaks that we want to see (some more well reasoned than others), but at the end of the day WoWs is an excellent action strategy game. Though I know that WoT will always have a larger playerbase, I would go so far as to say that WoWs is actually Wargaming's flagship effort (pun mostly intended).

Good luck, and fair seas. :honoring:

I would agree too WoWs is a gg just the strong sense of negativity that sits inside from player to player is just an instinct, its part of our survival hence the "fix this" topics made here and there, yes there are actually stuff that needs fixing, but the game's situation seems good probably even more better than WoT's...

It's true of many games: People come to the forums to complain. Or, more kindly, to give feedback in the hopes of improving the game.

Still, it is nice to see reminders now and then it's not all doom and gloom.

The only thing holding this game back is the lack of strategic comprehension people seem to have. That and no critical thinking.

Indeed it is a very good game, have been at it, almost to the exclusion of anything else, for almost 2 years now across 2 servers.

Are there issues?........Of course, every game has some, but by and large they are not as catastrophic as some people make them out to be.

Never played Tanks, so cannot make the comparison there.......but it is better than the "not to be named" opposition(where I also spent a couple of years), in most aspects, especially the community itself.

Can't see myself moving on anytime soon.

You think so? I'll be honest - I have been enjoying it a lot less lately. A lot less.

I definitely have my own thoughts on various... balance and such things. Some of them pretty strong thoughts.

But overall... I enjoy it more than not. And there's really nothing else like it, and with how niche the market is their probably won't be... except, I guess, very low production value clones like SO, but I don't expect there to be any serious competitors...

To each their own, though.

It's no surprise to see more negative topics related to the game on the Forums. Who would come here to speak about a game mechanic or a map? Someone who wants to praise the map and how he likes it or someone who complains about it? And I think that counts for many of us that we don't say what we like but what we want to see being changed.

Yeah, I haven't totally walked away... and I'm not knocking it for people who enjoy it. But I find it very exhausting to play on bad teams game after game. It seems like the situational awareness of your average player in this is exceedingly low - much lower, in fact, than in a comparable shooter. And that's... tough. It's frankly rather hard on me. I don't like losing, and I especially don't like losing when I feel like I did the utmost and others let me down. That's self-centered, I guess, but it's also reality.

I love this game. It gives me a chance to see these ships perform in a way pictures never do. Plus it helped me find my clan that I love.

When I have those days I just stop until I can find a div. Even if I still lose... at least a little more control over it, and we can usually take a chunk of the enemy team with us to the bottom.

The World of Tanks community is rapidly and dramatically declining.  I used to play WoT but I haven't played that game a single time since I was accepted into the Warships early closed beta in 2015.  I stopped playing WoT after getting tired with such a heavy pay to win atmosphere, and I can sit down and play a lot longer in WoWS than WoT.  Saddly, yes, World of Tanks is dying.

World of Warplanes, even though yes I was an alpha tester for that too, is Wargaming's red-headed step-child.  World of Warplanes never really took off (pun intended).

I can easily say Warships is their most successful and popular game at the moment.

I've always been more interested in WWI and WWII aircraft than in the ships of the period but this game has gotten me researching a few of them and learning more about their history. Anything that can goad me into learning something new is a success in my book.

Agree with the OP 100%. WOT is on the decline, They have to pump out overpowered tanks and fantasy tanks just to keep people playing. But...the absolute WORST game I know of is Armored Warfare. If a game company purposely set out to discourage and insult it's player base, Armored Warfare fits that description to a "T". Sad too, because that game could blow away WOT if the developers weren't all teenagers working on the game as a computer science project. Every patch they release makes the game worse instead of better.

As to WoWs...I love the dang game. My latest fascination (I feel dirty saying this), is Aircraft Carriers. I finally got up the nerve to try one (Hosho), and holy cow...a whole new dimension to WoWs!!! Liked it so much I even bought the most expensive Kaga package. Not gonna play it yet because I am still learning. But it's something to look forward to. :)

I got diminished interest on the game lately but I am not finished with it yet.  I suspect its because I am going back to my old habits and interests of playing robot warfare.

It's a competitive game and attracts competitive gamers,

And humanity has never bred a more socially toxic strain of person.  There's negativity, i think, because everyone's always pissed off.  The odds are good they had another player jump down their throat about something trivial the last time they dared express a thought.  That tends to create cranky people who are negative.

You should check out League of Legends or DoTA 2.  The former is "legendary" for such people.

A long long time ago, the first game I ever met with cranky people online was Nexon's Shattered Galaxy, which was a proto-MOBA of sorts.  I look back at the time now, that didn't prove to be a local phenomenon.

I have not played WoT (ex-navy so never felt any appeal for tanks) I really do like this game a lot I have all but stopped playing my other online games - LotRo and GW2 - to play this game and I have spent real world cash on this game,

Something I have not since my days of Ultima Online, when the wife and I had 9 accounts each (paying 9.99 a month each) used to buy and sell on EBay back then.

I like many of the aspects of the game - history - battle - ships, and hate some parts of it BUT most of those parts are dealing with online chat and it's salt. I would like to see some changes but I know that changes take time.

But over all I feel WoWs is great game:)

A lot of people aren't particularly skilled at handling the negative feelings that come as a result of losing.

I'm pretty sure League of Legends gave me PTSD.
