The real life version of USS Texas is in trouble...again. The intentional grounding of USS Texas after her last dry dock period in the mud of her berth is once again biting them in the rear. Plus the fact she's a 103-year old lady which has been in the water far longer than she was ever meant to be.

She needs a dry berth frankly...but at this point she may be too weak for it. I know parts of her hull are so thin I could whack a hole in them with a sledgehammer. It's times like this I wish WG would donate a portion of the cost of the premium USS Texas towards helping save the old girl.

A serious leak had workers scrambling Monday to make repairs to the Battleship Texas.

Crews were pumping about 2,000 gallons of water per minute out of the ship for more than 15 hours.

The ship manager said the ship was taking on water since Sunday afternoon and had to close to the public.

Crews found a 6 by 8 inch hole about 15 feet below the water line that was patched up at about 5:30 a.m. Monday.

"The ship tilted six degrees to the starboard side, the side we're on right now, which is pretty serious," ship manager Andy Smith said." People shouldn't be worried we are completely and totally dedicated to keep the ship for future generations."

Crews were checking for other leaks Monday and cleaning up.

Smith said it's not safe for visitors and the ship will be closed until further notice.

I hope she gets fixed but you should search before you post as this is at least the 8th thread on this since yesterday. WG has donated to the Texas in the past.

Poor old gal. There are many ways for a ship to end its life but this way we are able to enjoy it as long as we can. What a tactile piece of history.

TEXAS and TEXANS will take care of the TEXAS BB-35.  Rest assured, she will be around for our lifetimes and is just starting on another 100 years of service!

I hope so.  I wanna visit her someday :D.

If WG creates a bundle in support of the Texas Foundation, I would buy it...even though I already have her in my game :).
