A while ago I made a post on the 7 most common types of players in World of Warships. This here be the full version (I may have copied/pasted a few. I'm not typing all of that a second time. I also read through the replies of the last one and added in some you your suggestions into the list. If you want to see the original, as well as the people who thought of other types, the thread can be found HERE. If you want to sit there and type basically the same thing twice, go right ahead). Now, a lot of different people play Warships, and as such, there a lot of different ways people play. While some are certainly better then others, every now and again, I would see the same type of people popping up, and it just makes me smile in the pit of my soul to see people filling in such wonderful stereotypes. Some are good for laughing at, some will kick your [censored] out to the curb 10 times every day for the next month. All of us fall under one, or maybe even several. What be yours?

NOTE: No particular order

14.) The Camper/Border rider: Those guys in BBs and long range CAs just hugging the map border, afraid that someone may scratch the paint job of their nice, expensive warship....... argghhhhh

13.) The lucky bastard: Those guys in BBs and CAs on the enemy team that are sitting completely side on to a whole bunch of friendlies, only to eat nothing but overpens, while their shots just magically float through the air and fly into yours or another friendly ships citadel, nuking him. Everyone hates these guys. Luckily, they are fairly rare, which is our 1 saving grace

12.)The Damage Specialist: The concept of team play is basically a type of vodka to them. These guys excel at causing extraordinary amounts of damage. They are often found shooting up BBs and just farming damage numbers the entire game. They do have a tendency of tunnelvisioning in on whatever target they are focused on, so they usually make a pretty easy torpedo or even citadel nuke kill

11.) The Forumite: Everyone here probably fits this one. You join a game, then someone on the enemy team recognizes you from the forums, and then they tell their team to horribly focus you down. I've netted a LOW of this particularly from my DD guide and my tiliting article, links to both in my sig. Shameless self-promotion aside, there's the other side of the coin. AKA a Forum Warrior; These guys are generally bad players who come to the forums seeking assistance. They go back into game when they sink in some of the advice they received, and thinking that they're suddenly like a GOD or something, just because they went and asked for help and got a few tips. They go in, then get rekt, and usually proceed back to the forums to complain.Ah, human stupidity

10.) That guy who just doesn't care: You know....those guys who like to say "Its only a game" or "I play for fun" right after they've done something stupid:trollface:

9.) The Lost Soul: Bless these player's hearts. They load into the match in their shiny, fearsome warship, ready to wreak havoc on the enemy team. They charge forwards, guns a blazin, only to not land a single hit on target throughout the entirety (or at least the majority) of the match, and the ones that DO hit end up doing little to no damage. Meanwhile, the rest of the team is shooting them to hell and back and they rack up damage numbers in the 90k's while these players are sitting there at about 2-3k, if they're lucky. Heart of a warrior, these players have, just not the luck of one. Bless their hearts

8.) The Average Joe: Exactly what they sound like. They're average in every way. WR, WTR, KDR, Average Damage. Everything about them is average. Move along folks, nothing interesting to see here. Unless you like watching random people go around shooting things instead of shooting them yourself

7.) The Overly-Aggressive: These are most prominent in Destroyers. They have a tendency of being in places where they have absolutely no business being. Like that DD who spent the last ten minutes border scrubbing trying to chase down the CV, when they didn't notice the enemy CV got sunk about 5 minutes ago and they don't realize it until they run into half the enemy team. Or that USN CA trying to brawl with a Bismarck. Or that CV that's trying to RAM A DD IN THE B POINT 2 MINUTES INTO THE MATCH (YES, I HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN BEFORE)

6.) The Stat-Padder: These guys don't really give a fiddler's fart about you, or what you're doing. All the care about is 2 things, those being 1.) Winning the game to pad their WR, and 2.) Their own performance. You can very often find these guys in three man divisions, and they will usually only play the ships they really know they can do well in, and as such, they usually have a pretty decent idea of how their ship works, and are usually pretty good at it. When you see these guys, watch out. They can be pretty scary, especially if they're having a bad day

5.) The Tryhard: When I say tryhard, I don't mean that in a bad way. By definition, I'M a tryhard. And I'm sure at least a good portion of you are too. When I say tryhard, I mean a player who always joins a match and tries their hardest to win. Nothing wrong with that. Hell, if nothing else, I encourage this sort of play. The thing that I've seen to be consistent with these players is that you shouldn't expect much communication from them save for the occasion quick message, unless you start the conversation first. That being said, also know that these types of players are mostly pretty cool. I like them. They're the types of people who will destroy you in a match but afterwards they'll take you out for a drink at the local coffee shop. They'll carry the @#$% out of you if they're on your team but they'll tear you a new one if they're not. Most of the time, when you see these guys, they'll join a match, stomp it, and then the battle ends without them saying a word and you'll never see them again.

4.) The Sour Krout: These are the types of player who will usually die early on in the match, often getting themselves First Blooded, but instead of just headed back to port they decide to stick around and offer their "advice" to the rest of the team. And by advice, I mean that they will just do nothing but rage and rage and rage at anything that they don't like. They are tryhards, as they definitely try their hardest to win (although sometimes it really is hard to tell), but unlike the latter they're very vocal about it. These players are a constant annoyance and are currently most prominent in Ranked, although they're not an uncommon thing in Random battles either. The best thing to do about these players is to just ignore them. If you respond you'll usually just rile them up even more.

3.) Who's that knocking on Death's doorstep again? Why, its Mr. Accident Prone, of course! These are the types of players who are always sunk. And usually it's not because they're bad players. They might actually be pretty good players who are just having an off day. These players just have the most rotten luck you'll ever see. Whenever they load in and start engaging, they either get focused, detonated, or some other thing might happen to them, and the worst part is that whenever they have the hindsight to make sure whatever sinks them last time doesn't happen again, something else just comes along. The story of these player's lives is just wrong place, wrong time. They have absolutely rotten luck all the time, and try as they might there's nothing they can do about it.

2.) The Nervous Wreck: These guys are most concerned with their own survival, meaning they won't do anything to jeopardize it, even if it means losing the match. These types of players are mostly found in longer ranged BBs, such as the IJN ones, trying to snipe ineffectively at max range. They absolutely hate anything that can do damage to their ships. They are super DD and CV paranoid, and they won't leave spawn until its absolutely safe. These guys have nerves made of bubble wrap, and the second anything goes POP!, thats the last you're gonna see of them for a long, LONG time. Hell, they'll send you a letter from spawn asking how it went. They usually don't do very well in the match, needless to say.

And finally at #1 comes the Potato. These guys are just what they sound like. These players have absolutely NO clue at all as of how to play the game, play their ships, and just generally are kinda bad at the game. While I have nothing against these players, as not everyone has the same amounts of time and dedication to play, they are generally pretty frustrating to have on you team, as the slack they create on the team lists means the you and the other members on you team have to work that extra bit harder to carry them. Thankfully, these types of players meet their peak during the weekends, and are known as "Weekend Warriors." These types of players are hard to spot at first but as the match progresses these players stand out from the crowd the same way the sun would in the middle of the night (If that were to happen, not that it would).

I myself fall under 11 and 5 under most circumstances, but I sometimes have a hint of 3, 7. and 9, with a splash of 13 thrown in. How about you?

15. The Island Hugger - This player is usually spotted near islands, way too close to shore. Didn't anyone tell the captain that it's only 10 feet deep over there? "No matter, ahead full! I want the islanders in those tiny huts to witness the awesomeness of my ship." May also be heard saying, "I'm stuck," or the classic, "the islands are bugged, I can't get out, I blame WG for this."

Reminds me of "He who shall not be named" (And no, this is not someone you've TK'ed)

I think I'm somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle of 12, 8, and 6.

If I were to be brutally honest with myself?

A rotational mix of 1/3/9 with occasional forays into 4/7/8 that has me close to uninstalling again; the frustration factor of there being essentially no difference between me doing things right or doing them wrong is wearying.

Just tonight, with Bismarck -

Broadside Des Moines at (12) kms, whiff --- Oh, still broadside? Change lead then stagger four separate turret volleys along waterline/mid hull, and... whiff again....

Moskva angling away out at max range, snap shot for [1x citadel], comprising most of the damage (perhaps one-quarter or so) in same match.

Prior match in Yorck -

Damaged Fletcher, dead to rights, stationary broadside, under (6'ish) kms..... 5,634 and no sink.

No hull left Budyonny, line up and.... zero damage pens plus richochets.

No hull left Mogami, whiff... whiff again, and next sighting... 550 with AP, and... finally [3x HE] for the last 1397... to win losing game with (7) seconds on the clock.

Just can't get a break, on too many occasions anymore.

sigh, /endwhine

#15 once upon a time with Kongo on New Dawn where I made a fast turn at the very SE corner island that broadsided me into the shallows - and there was no getting off; couldn't go forwards or backwards.

Or the player that calls targets, and tries to create situations that his/her teammates can take advantage of. Good stats come from good cooperation, period.

And what exactly does that have to do with anything here?

The Mental Damage Specialist: Players usually found driving the Atlanta or the Akizuki. Their only objective in the game is to find an island to hide behind aim at a BB and hold LMB for the longest possible duration. They don't care about dealing damage, they don't care about captures, they will just hold LM f*****g B until the enemy BBs decide to go away out of pure annoyance or snap and charge at your entire team. Those machine gun wanna-be live by the motto "The expert in battle moves the enemy, and is not moved by him."

Here's another that got missed...

The Historian: This player is self-educated in the events, equipment, politics, and tactics used in the period setting of the game, and will inform everyone when anything in the game fails to conform -exactly- to their expectations. These players primarily play the game to re-enact events in the past or select items to purchase almost entirely based on the historical significance of said item. If something isn't historically accurate, these are the players you will see leading the charge to correct such ignorant mistakes, all other considerations be deep-sixed into the depths.

Forumite/ Try hard / Sour Krout - working on the last one but selfish players really tick me off sometimes.
