For all intents and purposes I'm new to WoWS and these forums.  Any pointers would be appreciated.

Firstly, welcome to the game!

 

If you want to get a head start, get an invite code from an existing player (it will give you two free premium ships, and a bunch of other goodies). After that, ensure you subscribe to some Youtubers such as iChase and NoZoupforYou, who cover the basics of gameplay. If you want some more advanced stuff, you can look at the content from Flamu and Aerroon. 

 

When you enter your first battle, press the "+" key a few times and make the minimap bigger. Otherwise, just start playing and don't be in too much of a rush to get to tier 10, some of the best fun can be found in the lower-mid tiers.

Use your rudder and don't sail in a straight line, that is all.

The minimap exist to not watch the detected enemy movements but also to see how your team moves of from spawn when the match starts also welcome to the forums /^_\\

Hey welcome to the forums before you post anything do a quick search on your topic in the upper right hand corner keep you from getting laughed at in the Forum for bringing up submarines again

don't do that

don't cry about team kills until you have at least a thousand games under your belt and then you'll understand more

 

when you get killed in a game don't always just escaped out and start a new one jump on somebody else's ships and watch how they play you'll start learning the game a lot quicker that way

Welcome to the forum. Probably the best advice I can give is... don't rush up the lines, stick with the lower tier ships till your comfortable and feel you have learned all you can. It's not a race and there are great ships in every tier.

Buy a really good PC so that you can play a better game.

My advice is get a referral code before you get to far into the game. They give you great stuff including a couple of premium ships. It is well worth it.

Biggest advice I can offer is, when something happens that you feel must be cheating, come here (after calming down ) and ask how that could have happened. There are many mechanics that are obscure and/or unintuitive, and asking about them without attitude is the best way to get helpful answers.
