Nah just need the protected MM removed for T4 so you dont get put in T7 games as often as a T5.

No, all that does is ruin tier 4 too. Unless you think a Danae vs a Cleveland or Budyonny is a good idea.

There are not enough people playing tier 4 to notice a real difference in the match making if you were to remove the protected MM.

 

There is something like 7% of games played at tier 4. That is nowhere near enough for tiers 5 and 6 to stop seeing 7 and 8 so often.

Since few if any T5s have any meaningful AA, especially versus T7 aircraft, its an easy, safe kill. Bottom tier is rarely fun, sometimes it is frustratingly agonizing.

That was the sollution found and implemented by WG in WOTB with great sucess.

Solved the problem with tiers 5, 6 & 8 almost always being fk by the MM.

It make the grinding less painfull.

 

In the end what happens now in blitz is that every player can joy the game , doens't matter what tank is driving or what tier he is playing.

Makes tier 5 a paywall when you need to pay to get out from being ****ed

 

Sad issue is when tier 6 is almost JUST as bad.

I didn't have any issues with unprotected tier 4 when I was grinding up lines before the change.

Need +/- 1 tier at peak hours, when server is about 10K ppl, or even 8k. It's ridiculous that my T5s and T6s mostly rust in port.

I'm playing Tier 5 and 6 ships right now.

 

Bottom tier is a challenge, but I have had some good games.  I've also been the first kill.

 

I have recently played several top tier battles as well.  I do better, but I have been killed early in my best ship, so it is no guarantee.

 

Most extreme MM experience was actually with a Tier 7.  My very first time out in the Leningrad ever and I get a Tier 9 battle.  My initial response was <redacted>.  However, I just rolled with it.  I barely survived, but did lead the map with two captures, two kills, many hits and about 92K damage.  Honestly, I don't expect to do as well for a long time, if ever, in that ship.

If they are bad enough, this is exactly what happens.

 

I was playing a Tier 1 that I have no wins in and drew a 3v3 match with a 2-ship division on the opposing team.  It didn't help that one the my side detonated just as we were engaging that division.

 

That said, I do like smaller teams.

I enjoy playing T5, I'm not horrible playing T5. I am horrible at T10 but I play there because there are no T12, and it's a fun change of pace playing as top tier.

Nope....

 

I said it once already on this thread. There are only 7% of all games played at tier 4. Not enough to make a significant impact on tier 5 and 6 games.

 

And it would probably kill tier 4 off to about 3% of games, as with the population distribution, 4 would become the new 5 and no one would want to play it.

No...people at tiers 7 and 8 are also sick and tired of the constant uptiering. Once in a while maybe, but game after game....it gets old.

Tiers 1 and 2 should be protected — nothing more. Tier 3 would still be top tier fairly often, but most of those ships can compete at tier 5. And if not, it's fast to grind through tier 3.

The "fast grind" is what's churning out tons of crappy players in higher tiers. Quick grind through, get the next ship, move up to the next tier, never bother to really learn the mechanics of the game. Tier 5 MM annoying? Just move up. It's a bad solution.

The only Tier VIII ones that get shafted all the time are CVs.  The other types get to exercise their dominance against Tier VI.  You can't expect to be beating up on Tier VI all the time.

 

Tier VII?  That is the sweet spot in MM right now.
