My time spent on the high seas doing battle with the random potatoes has been cut back of late. Due to a family matter I had to take a 10 hour road trip. But after helping with this new little matter I decided to go visit some place I've never been to yet. I don't have time for a full post so here is a teaser.

I've come to get a deeper understanding of the DD life. de56asJ.jpg

Never play these things but this is cool. 3ThdL4J.jpg

Bonus question what famous battle is being recreated here?B06Wj9l.jpgE5Vvd6B.jpg6rzcw5q.jpgGi4g93L.jpgWQxCjgr.jpg

Hint, this is the clue. HJ9hwhy.jpg

Now I said this was a teaser post, when I'm back at home next week I'll share some more images. But in the mean time can you guess Where I've Been? I left a few clues in the pictures so good luck.

One rule Lord_Zath Cannot guess, because he can spoil this.

I went  there 4 times while I lived there, but that was before they brought back the Laffey. I need to revisit it now. Thanks for the pics.

If I wasn't working on my boat, I'd buy ya a drink.

I'm gonna guess Patriots Point... USS Yorktown... USS Laffey... USS Clamagore...

https://www.patriotspoint.org/explore/uss-clamagore/

The only thing you got wrong is the cruiser, its the USS Charleston.

It was so worth it the cost of admission. Looking at a pixel ship is fun but seeing the real deal up close in person is amazing.

I will be looking at that album when I get time. I was temped to walk around the boat asking "Um do you play WoWs?" so meeting up with a fellow potato harvester would have been interesting. By working on your boat would that be a fishing boat? I saw a few coming and going Saturday.

At some point I'll create a new post with some of the pics I snapped from there, maybe even a video if it comes out right and I can get it edited. I noticed later that the pamphlet they hand you for your tour has the WarGaming Lets Battle Tour on it. I'm always late for the good things lol.

Man you scared the hell out of me, lol!  I really am a fan of your insight into this game and topics on this post.  They just seem so simple yet effective.  Very happy you got a chance to view those ships, been meaning to visit New Jersey and look at the New Jersey BB in person (heck, my sister works near by the place), but someday I guess.

After a long day of driving, Still not home yet, this comment made my evening. Thank you for that.

I would totally do it as soon as possible. My trip to Charleston was a spur of the moment idea and took 6+ hours to get there. I wasn't even aware of the ships being in the harbor until a day before we got there. Even then I wasn't sure I was going to be able to do more than look at them from a distance. So if you have the time I would recommend going to see them. We don't have a lot of time on this rock so we need to make the most out of it and enjoy the ride.

It's obviously Samar. Tou have the Yamato pointed right at a sinking flattop. And the only other time a CV was killed by surface ships was the destruction of the HMS Glorious.

Everyone else has already answered lol.

I recently visited the USS Cassin Young, Joseph Kennedy, Lionfish, Massachusetts and the Rudolph Egelhoffer/USNS Hiddensee. Haven't uploaded any yet but plan to share the pictures here when i do.

Definitely puts things into perspective when playing this game lol. Battleship Cove is definitely worth a trip (It is 6 hours for me) but i would put off the Cassin Young until the Constitution is finished being restored. Didn't do my research beforehand so was kind of bummed when i couldn't go on her.

Hoping to make it to the USS New Jersey and Olympia later this summer, assuming the later doesn't sink first.

PS : Actually thought you were quitting playing this game Red. Was prepared to get sad at the thinning of the WoWS Bear crowd lol.

Yes indeed, drive safely - no texting while driving let alone posting to forums ;-)

I have a hard No Texting or suffering the web while driving rule and phone calls have to be hands free.

I'm away from my home tending to a family matter but there was a break and I decided to go see something I've never seen before. Never been to North or South Carolina so visiting them makes 36 states I've seen so far. Seeing those warships was just a bonus. Hopefully I'll be back on the reliable fast internet at home some time this week.
