kolberg broken after patch

ok since this last patch the kolberg can't sink anything last match 56 hits 1 citadel hit whole 16k damage match before that 98 hits 12k damage. 80% of shells hit and do nothing at all. top it off the shell travel speed is half of other ships have to line up the sights on the 15 to 18 mark to hit a cruiser running broadside before patch was between the 5 and 10 but now have to actualy zoom out to even see the enemy ship in the sights and hit them hell my bb shooting at targets 17km away the shells get there in half the time as the kolberg.

The Kolberg wasn't changed in the patch.

Nah, you are reading too much into it. Nothing has changed. Kolberg has always been like that.

what patch notes are you reading here is a copy and paste saying they did change german cruisers just because the kolberg isn't mentioned by name does not mean that the shell changes did not effect it go and try it if don't beleave me.

Balance Changes

Cruisers

The main advantages of German cruiser guns are their great AP damage potential, with a disadvantage of less damage delivered by their HE shells. In situations where you find yourself fighting against lightly armored targets that take damage even from a shot to the bow, or when an enemy ship has exposed her side to you, German AP shells cause devastating damage. Unlike US 203mm shells, German AP shells don't have the same "soft" ricochet angles, and given their weaker HE shells, German cruisers are sometimes less efficient, if firing at a heavy cruiser at a 45% angle in relation to your German ship, for instance.

We've decided to compensate for their lower HE damage by increasing their armor penetration capability, bringing German cruisers in line with other same-type ships in terms of performance. We've also added some minor, yet pleasant, changes to Nürnberg, Hindenburg, Emerald and La Galissonniere.

  • Increased the armor penetration capability of HE shells for the following: Karlsruhe, Königsberg, Nürnberg, Yorck, Admiral Hipper, Prinz Eugen, Roon and Hindenburg

Hmm. I think there's something wrong with my eyesight. I don't see any mention of Kolberg anywhere.

Kolberg shells have always been ridiculously floaty, this isn't new with this patch

There was that time where they broke BB secondaries briefly, but I can remember Kolberg always being crappy with her pathetically dinky little 105s.

Dude, Dresden and Kolberg have always been broken.  Just lock your rudder left or right, select a target, fire guns, profit.

kolburg was always a marshmellow launcher.

Look, WG hasn't touched anything that was related to the Kolberg. WG changed the shells of the german Cruisers starting at T4, aka 15cm. The shells are all modeled themselves and can be identified by their name, here a full list of all the shells that we have: https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldOfWarships/comments/5ordcb/datamined_list_of_ifhe_penetration_changes/ (HE penetration data is outdated since the last patch). So when WG walks up and chages all the shells for the T4-10 Cruisers, the shells for Kolberg, Dresden, Emden and Hermelin remain unchanged. Btw the shells on Kolberg, Dresden and Emden have always been crap, just saying.

Dresden and Kolberg are fire starters for he most part. I recently put the IFHE skill on both of them and am a bit "meh" about that. I think I preferred the ability to burn stuff down. They do tear up destroyers with it though.
