I wasn't planning on parking my butt in front of this thing and doing a WoW marathon this weekend....but I won 24 hours of Premium time last night...so off we went. Got to make hay while the sun shines.  I've been doing pretty good in the La Gal, but its the weekend.... Yeah, I had some bad teams, and a few curb stomps, where I didn't have time to farm much damage, but now 17 games latter, the Algerie is mine. Whew. Only about 100,000 XP to the Martlel, LOL.

 

I need a drink.

I've heard that Algerie is supposed to be the "sweet spot" in the French cruiser line. Congrats on getting her!

Thanks guys! I really like La Gal, and I'm gonna keep her... Tier 4 and 5 were meh... at least for me. This really is silly. I'm gonna get to the Martel, play 5 games in her, remember why I don't like high tier play....then take that now 15 point captain and put him back in the Tier 3...oh the seals that get clubbed, LOL. I really do have issues, don't I?

and average forumite that goes down the french cruiser line tends to have their experience on these 3 ships reversed compare to your thoughts on them.

Well, I did have to change my play style quite a bit to get anything done with her. I wasn't much of a kite flyer until I watched a couple of Flamu videos, and saw how effective it could be. You can be a royal pain to try and hit when your playing with the speed boost, even with 5 or 6 people shooting at you. Having only two torps a side does suck. But I really don't think she is that bad a ship, and I wouldn't spend the money on the De Grasse unless you really want a captain trainer.

 

I think I do have to go back to the 4 and 5...Like I said, I just bulled through them rather than try and play to their strengths, so that may have something to do with it...

I was made fully aware of their playstyle when I was early into ginding the Bertin through looking round the forum on what are other people's take on these cruisers at the time.
