What's going on with all the steamrolls lately?

Has there been some sorta change because I been noticing far more game where 1 team loses no ships where as almost every1 on the other team gets demolished quickly.

Very few games like that before where as its somewhat common nowadays.

 

I've been on both sides of the situation but no fun games either way.

 

Just the luck of the draw or any1 else notice that too?

In my games - very uncommnon then and now.  Had had more games go to the last 3 minutes the last month or so.

I've seen it quite a bit. I wonder if it happens at specific tiers more than in others?

Steamrolls are natural in this sort of game due to the snowball effect.

I've seen it a lot more, but it could just be confirmation bias.  But yeah, one team seems to drop 2-3 ships really quick and then can't catch up. 

I've had several T8-9 matches where one side loses 1 ship and the other has two ships left.

It is summer break for schools. So, the player base has probably shifted a bit.

Yeah I have also seen more of this happening, but I have also seen a lot base camping. Both have seemed to have become more common.

This situation is entirely due to WG MM 'arranging' these ridiculous results.

Only blind persons cannot see the blatant 'rigging' that is going on.

As the game progresses, more and more potatoes fail their way to the top and thus, take more and more top tier spots on Random teams. Now you are really at the mercy of MM as to how many of them get put on the same team.

More and more people are just getting up and walking away from their desks, or letting their cat play while people like me and div mates try and win the game anyway.

This is my theory as well. I remember tier 10 being much more competitive in the past as nearly everyone at that tier got there quickly because they were good and earned xp quickly. 

 

Today it is common to see players with below 50% overall winrates at tier 10. The premium camos allow them to play poorly and still have money for the repair bills.

 

Im sure there is more to this, but i dont know exactly what it is. The game is certainly different than when it first released and feels like blowout 8 min matches are WAY more common than in the past.

I think it's the opposite, actually.  For the past few months (since clans were added) more players have been interested in joining clans and divisioning up.  As this happens, good players come together like magnets and the skill level of top divisions increases.  Players that are "average" or "good" but want to improve have a larger pool of players to join with and learn from.

 

Basically, more of the top 1% players are playing together instead of solo now, and the top 20% players are probably better than the top 20% was a year ago.  A good division goes a long way towards forcing an early win, and if you end up with 3-5 good players on one team, it's going to be a short game.

Definitely more steam rolls as of late. I understand that there are more potatoes as of late, but it does feel like MM drops them all on the same team sometimes.

For risk of being shouted out of the room, but what is going on.  I am consistently being placed as the lowest tiered ship (usually like to play cruisers) in any match.  Automatically outranged and out armored and placed consistent in a far end where if the heaviest don't get me, the torpedo planes will.  Not just one match, not occasionally, but just about every match.  It is as if MM is saying, we want you to die and quickly.  Like being served up as cannon fodder...especially when you are trying to fight the fight and you see much of the rest of the team hiding somewhere.  Results are steamrollering.  There is enough with "game balance" (or...cribbing on history and technology) as it is that disadvantages some players to the advantage of another, but what has been going on lately has put a whole new dimension on frustration.  Like when you examine the teams after queuing and can only say...oh #!@&!#@.  Not only MM team selection but the map placement as well.  Nothing like being clobbered by ships you can't see within seconds...Again, only my take and my experience of late.  But my experience also is that if I raise an issue politely about issues like balance, I'll be blown off.  ANd...I really like older ships...mid an lower Tier.  And, when a choose a Tier V, I am usually now the only one there...everything else higher...

Honestly, ships needs to mirror the MM tanks just employed where you're not going to be say one of 2 tier 6s in a tier 8 match.  How they do it now and I'm modifying it for Ships looks a bit like this.

 

Three tier 8s, 4 tier 7s and 5 tier 6s per side. Granted it's a bit more with 15v15 in TA ks, but all they did is make that 5 tier 7s and 7 tier 6s. So there's a lot more your tier to deal with rather than a HELL of a lot more ships higher tier than you.
