Did I save the match, or just a Battleship?

Judges...  Did I just save a BB that then kills me for my trouble, or did I save the match for my team and then get killed for my trouble?

GJ on the smoke. You saved the match, but positioned next to his MB cause inattentive. And of course, your teammate had tunnel vision, so didn't see you.

Just so its on the record, I saw the torps and took them on purpose.  A BB is worth more points then a DD.  Thats what I was thinking at the time.

If you had just hit 1/4 speed, you would have lived. Plus since you're in the smoke too, you aren't providing spotting.

Otherwise, GJ, have an upvote.

It's thinking that like this that wins games.  How many players understand there is a points delta between a DD kill and a BB kill?  The delta is 25 points.  When a a game is coming down to the wire, "taking one for the team" can make the difference.  You essentially gave your team a net 25 points.

The game ended with a 39 delta.  So in this specific situation the difference would have been a 14 point win if the BB took it instead of you. So technically speaking, it didn't make the difference.  However, given the real time fluid situation, it was a sound strategic move.  There will be games you win instead of lose because of thinking like that.

This is the brainy, honest assessment I was looking for.  xD  Its to bad though.  I would had liked to have saved the day, but its the thought that counts right?  haha

Good play on your part OP.  Not quite sure how to define the BB's except for being somewhere between stupidity and carelessness.  To be fair, German low-caliber BB guns have very high velocities and flat arcs for battleship-caliber weapons, and to mention the ships tend to sit lower in the water.  The end result is that people who play other BB think that it's impossible to accidentally hit allies up close that aren't another BB and are wrong; but that doesn't excuse it.
