I am glad WG has finally put something in the game that is designed for the player who wants to put forth some effort to learn how to play well and work together. Be it in clan divisions or just divisions of friends this is something that will help hold over many who want something more difficult till clan wars. For those who think it should be easy mode i have no pity for you. Not every part of the game should be dumbed down for potatoes. It is time to step up and learn.

It's Hard?LOL... Finished it on my 3rd battle with 5 stars,

 

I think you get my point. Hard for potatoes easier for players who are not and there are some who will be carried to a win.

Not all of us grew up when everyone had a computer and most of our friends were gamers. Those of us who wish a challenge and play solo because our peers just don't play games like a good fight, too.

My expectation is that the real potatoes will give up after a while and leave operations to the less spudly people.

I think I'm salty about how instead of giving them AI more like the AI in "coop" or training battles, they instead fire sequentially at a reduced-speed with disproportionately high firechance. Perhaps they are trying to save the actually well designed and fair AI for hard mode? Even then, I fear they will just apply the firechance buff onto them as well so it's just artificially difficult.

The first computer I ever saw weighed nearly as much as one of the 8" shells it was used to direct. We didn't play a lot of "games" as kids but instead went hiking, hunting, fishing and camping. When I joined the Army, I had no problem with the environmental challenges. I really think kids today miss out on a lot of what life has to offer when all they do is stare into a screen all day. Enjoy the occasional video game but, for heaven's sake, get out and live some real life too.

First computer I used had no memory and had to be fed punch cards!

 

If I had what the kids have now, then, I would have missed out on so much (cause I would have sat at home on the computer too)!  

 

Surfing/fishing/diving/climbing   I used to pretty much live in the water in summer!

Well...I for one find it extremely hard, especially during the 3 battles I played earlier I was the last one alive facing what was left of the second wave and all of the third wave, me and my little tier 6 ship against all of those tier 8's just does not result in a win.  I'm out until I find a better group to play with, the spud force was in full effect earlier. :(

It's hard if you're not playing in a division. Scenarios is no place for casual players. I've played about a dozen times so far and not once did our Lexington survive. Got my 5 stars only because there was a division on my team.

Im liking the new senario even though I'm 1 for 8 losses , its fun, the ship that does best so far for me is my Cleveland as it can take some punishment, and dish it out its just not that accurate at the farther ranges with the longer shell trajectory

also have found those botts are very good at avoiding torps in ships that have em, need to get in close

Its not hard ... as long as you dont try to do it with pubs

I've played the new mode twice in totally random groups. First match we won it easily with 5 stars. Next match the team failed totally for 0 stars! It really depends on who you play it with and a bit of luck with the enemy spawns IMO.

This is like a repeat of Halloween mode;

 

First half of crowd; "It's hard!"

Second half of crowd; "It's easy!"

 

My personal experience in Halloween mode was that NO ONE cooperated. It was so bad that I gave up on playing anything but the destroyer, and just concentrated on stealth torping the zombie Mikasas and Rasputine as the came out.

 

What button is it exactly that I press called 'cooperation?'

 

I would imagine things won't be any different now.

I farmed halloween camo (ended up with 250 of them )   with  cruiser, you could easily farm them.   won about 20% of them, but only one perfect  match.      too bad there is no reward once you get the 5 star here beyond credit/xp.

IMHO Wargaming bungled the Halloween mission by giving the camo for damage and the free xp for mission objectives instead of the other way around. I think they believed that players wanted the free xp more than the camo and they were wrong. Flat out wrong. Had they given the rewards the other way around, things would have been much different.

I'm glad it's not easy either. Good work by WG for the most part. They need to eliminate several of the remaining bot cheats, though.

They should add mechanics that absolutely require teamwork. That would make things interesting all right.

 

there certainly aren't any in this operation. this is just standard lazy developer "increase the size of the baddies" drivel.  

 

sorry but just raising the tier of the baddie is a cheese/lazy way to increase difficulty

I haven't tried them yet, but as long as they're in the vein of the Halloween mission, that sounds fine.

 

Never completed the mission, but the (non-XP/credit) rewards were worth it. That was effectively random players, with not much communication, but everybody more or less knew what to do.

 

IOW, if I can play as a solo player, and come out of it with 3 or 4 stars on a good run, I'd be happy with that.

I've played this scenario twice now. Once, I died but two teammates remained and we got three stars. The second time, I found myself alone before the main assault so I ran and hid my Graf Spee behind a liberty ship in the healing circle and let it soak up some of the damage. I finally died in that one too but by the time I did the mission objectives were complete. I only got one star then but I did pick up a nice heroic individual medal -- the Will to Win.

 

I only have two Tier VI ships, a Graf Spee and an Arizona that I got from a campaign and a crate. However, from what I've seen in video replays, the Cleveland does really good in this scenario. Unfortunately, I sold my Cleveland while working up the US cruiser line and don't have the funds yet to buy it back.

What I have found is that some players think these bots are like coop bots.

Thy charge in and get rekt and hence a loss.

I got the 5 stars after a couple of tries with a 2 man div of which 1 was a cv.

I covered the wrong side for  the LEX spawn point in a LEANDER.

The cv covered the LEX and I kept the other side.:izmena::playing:
