Binge-played and burned myself out completing Honorable Service, and just haven't felt the same ever since, (been playing a lot more co-op... Used to have 300 games in co-op; now I have 3,000+...) Her turning circle caught me offguard the first few time I tried to torpedo beat. I havent got all the mission tasks complete yet (so no flawless victory) but still, it has taken ages! I suppose its because I dont play high tiers that much; I prefer Tiers 5-7. To be fair - I haven't played her much, but in 8 matches I've managed to average 22.2K damage! Putting that in perspective - in 178 matches in the T5 Fujin, my average damage is 50.6K. I've been grinding up the IJN DD split, so not playing a lot of games in my IJN premiums lately - but I do believe I'll put a little time into her and try and get a feel for her. She certainly is capable of putting a hellacious wall-of-skill out there, especially given her tier - and while her torps aren't all that fast, the reload certainly is! I still need to actually work on the Honorable Service campaign. I don't think I've made very much progress on it, and even less after I replaced my current missions with the Hunt for the Bismarck missions. I find that people who struggle in IJN DDs don't understand their role so well. Try this exercise next time you take it out. 1. Do not fire your guns if you can absolutely help it. 2. Do not get spotted the whole game. 3. Offer your smoke to allies. Now if you have a CV, obviously both are hard to do but a non-CV game try it. Spot. Look for opportunities to fire your torpedoes. Try and get to the side or behind the enemy. Don't try to cap early. You're not there to cap really. You're there to spot and kill big slow dumb BBs. You will be really surprised the impact you have in game when you're not spotted one time. It's a little scary for the enemy. You are the ghost. Reposition after firing your torps. Ghost torp and move. I know if I'm hiding behind a rock and I'm spotted, it makes me nervous as heck. WHERE IS THAT IJN DD? It's out there. I know it.
