Is torpedo acceleration skill worth getting for Kaga?

I think torpedo acceleration is pretty much required for all CVs. There are no negatives really in terms of CV for using torpedo acceleration. If you are manual dropping you don't need all that range but you definitely want your fish to get to their target quicker.

Kaga has fast torpedoes for a CV, but there's no reason to not minmax that advantage.

the skill was BUILT for CVs, not DDs.  Its required on ALL CVs.

Not for USN CV. You don't want TA on USN CV because they will diverge much faster thus making 5 or 6 hits harder.

I don't use it as I personally want to minimize arming distance. Increasing speed also increases arming distance since arming time is a constant. This lets me hit destroyers more reliably, and allows me to land more hits on ships that are turning away or are shorter than the width of the torpedo spread.

The Kaga has faster torpedoes than other CVs, but also has the wonkiest drop pattern of them all - forcing you to drop from further away. In addition, your weak planes further force you to drop from slightly further, to avoid entering the close range AA bubble of your target. Torpedo acceleration helps you to compensate for this. Most importantly, it helps the back 3 torpedoes in the drop pattern reach the target faster. These three torpedoes are the main "cluster", and thus your main source of damage, and making sure they hit is imperative.

Well, you more than likely will be using your normal IJN CV captain, which i would say its worth having on them.  So having it on the kaga because of that is fine imo.   if you have a kaga captain, idk if its really needed.  those fish are fast.   it certainly wont hurt if you know how to manual drop far enough back.
