D-Day Invasion

I know June 6 is tomorrow but I figured I'd make a topic about it now because I may not have time to tomorrow and that fighting did occur in the night of June 5 with the airborne drops, the land invasion commenced on June 6. It's been 73 years since the invasion happened. on the evening of June 5, 1944, Allied bombers flew to France to attack coastal defenses and other targets in preparation for the invasion. The same evening, glider and airborne troops were preparing to land into France behind the coastal defenses, they were the first to arrive. On the morning of June 6, the amphibious assault came with the allies attacked 5 beachheads. The Americans landed in Utah and Omaha beaches, the British landed in Gold and Sword beaches, and the Canadians landed at Juno beach. They were supported by commonwealth forces, the French resistance, and forces from exiled armies such as Poland and Czechoslovakia during the Normandy Campaign. I'm not going much further into the details of the invasion because you all probably know about it but only to say it's a day we all should remember, possibly the most important date for the Western theatre of the War in Europe.

There was a lot more that also happened on June 6 throughout history, one of those items was on June 6, 1942, the Battle of Midway, U.S. sunk 4 carriers as well as the cruiser Mikuma, surprising that WG does not have an event related to June 6 as it was also one of the largest sea battles that happened on that day.

Guess I may have to correct myself, I see in game there is a Midway Battle event taking place, either way June 6, look it up on Wikipedia, the list is a mile long as far as historical events that have taken place for the past several hundreds of years on that day, lots and lots of stuff.  Good luck out there!

Are you wanting a dday event in world of warships? They usually only do events that had navies involved from both sides of a conflict apparently
