Hello all. My best friend got me to switch onto Warships from the hell hole that is WoT Console. Im a Super Unicum on there with 3300 Wn8, but you guys have something different obviously. I hope to be a fine addition to the community.

Any Dead Horses I need to avoid?

If anyone could direct me to a Tirpitz guide as well that would be great. I already have some experience on his account but could use some more tips. I have seen Flamu's and ATSF's vids.

I was gonna tell him to start new sub/det threads because we didn't have any.

I'm a troll.

Welcome aboard sailor; May the wind be at your back, your enemies sail straight, the enemy torpedoes miss by a mile and RNG be always in your favor. Remember to watch the mini map, change course and speed and use AP on board side ships at the water line. Don't get lost or sail alone, don't hug islands to close, don't show your broad side, push with your team, don't hang back in sniper mode and Have fun. Smoke on the water is dangerous, avoid friendly fire and don't feed the trolls. For any thing else use search or just ask.

Things to watch out for; We don't want subs unless they contain tasty deli meats, Detonations are fun and engaging, Destroyers do not have cloaking devices they just have better concealment than a stupid battleship who forgot how to WASD, every ship in the game can be OP as heck and Useless at the same time [its the captains fault] and finally getting called a Hax'er is a compliment to a good player.

The Sinksalot Fleet salutes you,
See you top side.

P.s. the Youtube channels of iChase, Notser, Flamu and even the Might Jingles has really good content for WoWs. The more you learn the better a captain you will become and the less you will be surprised. Also reading Patch notes is useful.

And for the best in depth reviews of premium ships you need to took up the Little White Mouse reviews here on the forums.

Welcome from another past WoT console (XBOX 360/XBONE) player!  I find teamwork to be much greater here and the grind more fun...with premium time and a ship you like to play, it's fairly easy to build up a bankroll.  I also find the game, in general, to be much more strategic with fewer instant punishments when small mistakes are made.

WoWs doesn't punish rapid progression by new players nearly as much as WoT did in terms of game economy

One thing to understand about Tirpitz is that it was released a LONG time ago, and was the first German BB released (before the rest of the German line).  Some guides/videos you might find may be out of date, because it was given a recent BIG buff to it's secondary battery range which totally changes how it's played.  You might get a better idea of how to play it now by looking up a Bismarck guide/video then adding the fact that Tirpitz has 6km torpedoes instead of the hydro acoustic search which is Bismarck's unique feature.  Otherwise they play very similarly and the builds are very similar.

Hello, welcome to the forums! If you are looking for a guide always check out Little white mouse and Lert's guides they have great info. Here is the link to the Tripitz guide. http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/51594-premium-ship-review-kms-tirpitz/

That being said it looks like you have only played the Tripitz and the Texas. I would definitely play every class at least up to tier 5 before heading back out to the tripitz. It will give you the basic skills you need to do well in the higher tiers as well as teaching you the strengths and weaknesses of each ship.

Best of luck and fair seas,

In terms of Tirpitz the Yuro's (ATSF) guides are more then sufficient the rest is just to play her and test her out.

One note that should be mentioned is she now has 7km base Secondaries so for skills you want to get Advanced Firing Training and You want to get the Secondary Mod in the second slot that increases her secondary range by 20% those 2 with the Flag for secondaries gets her Sec Range up to 10.6km just like the Bismarck

Welcome. Many of us came from WoT for those reasons. WoWs is quite a different game though, pace is *a lot* slower and a game typically lasts around 15 minutes and some can go for the duration (20 mins). Many of the tactics used in WoT obviously doesn't work well here (always fun to see some people play peekaboo with their BB, behind islands...) but some of the things we learned do, like leading targets. Take your time to get to know the different ins and outs, if you like ships and the slower pace I'm sure you'll have a good time. :):honoring:

Check out IChaseGaming's

for the quickest way to get the basics to "get gud" as fast as possible.

The Top 3 videos I recommend first are:

  1. - As getting daka on target is very important.
  2. - As preventing damage is super important
  3. - As using the right shell is super important

Recommended Ship Types (in order):

  1. Cruisers - Best all around ships to learn a variety of game aspects
  2. Destroyers - They teach you a lot about concealment, using torpedoes, and scouting, but don't have a citadel which will teach you bad habits in the BBs and Cruisers.
  3. Battleships - Will teach you how to properly use your consumables, and the importance of aiming, and angling. They'll teach you nothing about torpedoes (with a few exceptions), and you'll be fantastically more prepared in avoiding DD and Cruiser torpedoes if you play them first. (You'll notice when they swing broadside to launch torps).
  4. Carriers - I recommend mostly avoiding them at first until you're more comfortable with the artillary ships. Playing them will open your eyes to their attack methods and capabilities, but they're almost a separate game entirely, so they won't help you with the rest of the game.

Recommended Lines for each type:

  1. Cruisers - USN, IJN, and MN (French) all have a really good mix of ships that are effective and easy to pick up without being too punishing. The USN doesn't have torpedoes after Tier 5, but they get better AA and their AP shells can penetrate at better angles than other lines.
  2. Destroyers - USN, KM (German) are probably the best two lines to start with as they both are good gun boats and torpedo boats. The USN has the best smoke and learning how to use it for your team, instead of just yourself is important to winning and becoming unicum. The KM tends to be better torpedo boats.
  3. Battleships - USN or IJN are both the best options. Many will suggest using the KM because you're not punished by citadels like the other two lines are, but it will teach you bad habits in every other ship type and line. The USN is medium to close range, and IJN a long to medium range nation for the most part. Just don't get the impression that sniping at max range is a good idea. You have HP and heals for a reason.
  4. Carriers - I'd wait for the re-balance, but I recommend going IJN for the time being. The USN CVs are red hot garbage, and the "challenge" of the IJN CV is essentially being given an overwhelming number of squads in effective loadouts, and having to manage them. Where the USN CVs "challenge" is being a dumpster fire, with 3 poor load out choices, each one gimped in it's own way until you reach the Midway at Tier 10. The Langley is fairly fun though.
