How was your weekend spree?

Whew! About 35K XP from Neptune, 60K from Roon, reached T6 French cruiser, got a brutal relearning streak in Taiho, and worn out!

 

A wild Forumite appeared (and played well, saw him pickup Witherer, but I noticed his teammates camping hard and spent my NC to drop their aggressive Bismarck, which helped win the match).

 

Emile is a terror with that 39 knots and excels in close quarters provided you outrun the MB. Think I'm fairly decent in her, and best moment is when I charged a Scharnhorst, forced his DCP with my torps, then as he turns to run and I ran into his behind, he gets Die-Hard, but the flood picks him off. Couple teammates laughed:

I also faced a Shimakaze close range in my Edinburgh. I narrrowly wove through his torp spread and DS'd with mine. Couple spectating teammates cheered at seeing me outplay a DD in his own turf.

 

Also wonder if it's just me, but it seems DD players by and large have learned how to dodge TB. Had to return to previous TB crossdrop to get hits.

Reymu, I bombed your Tirpitz (or was it Bismarck?) on Hotspot, though the enemy Taiho was too much for me to deal with and I lost all my planes.

 

The whole weekend was spent in Essex. I'm trying to powergrind the Midway so I'm ready for the Tier X discount at the end of the month. Won some, lost some, walked out without significantly changing my averages. So kind of meh?

Good luck with La Galissionaire.  Worst cruiser I have played in a long time.  Hated her enough to free XP through the second half of her grind.

 

Hopefully you have better luck with her than I did.  Algerie is a wonderful step up at T7.

Had a decent weekend.

Pretty good.  15 battles w/ 53% winrate (was up over 70% midway, but had a run of bad luck teams at the end), averaged almost 70k damage, and WTR was in love with me w/ 2,004 WTR.  I was kinda all over the map with my focus.  Finished the Bismarck campaign, prepped a few tier VI ships for Ranked, tried to make progress on the Shinonome campaign, and bought Yugumo.

 

So far, I'm finding Yugumo to be a great ship not unlike Kagero (which I love) but just a bit better in a few areas...slightly faster torpedo rearm, slightly better ROF and traverse on the guns, at the loss of 0.1km concealment.  I only had two matches in her so far (both losses), but averaged over 90k damage between them and both were very close games that came down to the wire.  Chose to keep using the 67kt 10km torps from Kagero rather than the 76kt 8km torps for just a bit more reach/comfort when facing hidden enemy DDs that prevent getting close to their main fleet.

WR wise it was pretty good. If I could ever figure out how to quit derping, I might be able to contribute more to the match.

My weekend was great. Got through 5 of 7 stages of the Hunt for Bismarck (started late, yeah) and finished the collection. 

 

Best game of the weekend started with someone telling our team we all sucked and everyone was worthless because he sank apparently. Then this happened.

 

 

 

 

Plus that was my very first game in the New Mexico. Needless to say I was very happy with it!

Ok, that was interesting and pleasing coverage. +1. My weekend was nice. Played japanese DDs in division and even had a troll game with my Ryujo managing to sink 4.

Ground up to the Lexington -- now I can do those T8 CV missions in the campaign.

Spent a lot of coin respec'ing captains and testing them out.

Ren the Dunkerque to try to hit the 1M damage -- didn't make it given the time allotted.

Burned off a few more tasks off the Bismarck mission (complete, but still collecting flags), and moved on to Level 3 of the Excellence Campaign.

Had a nice tier 7 game in the Marblehead.  It was randomly picked as the last battle of the weekend.  Tried to cap, failed, waited, tried again - good.  Managed a torpedo hit on a Cleveland.

I pounded through the bismark campaign, even started on the final task, ended 150K damage short. I was played out by the end, done with WOW. I'll play some today and finish the campaign for the german battleship I always wanted, but didn't want to grind for. Then I'll just have to level up the captain and upgrade the ship. But a good weekend in all. I primarily used my NC and AL, got much closer to the Iowa, collected a bunch of elite XP for the MO, and a bunch for FXP for researching modules on Iowa and Baltimore. I was ready for a break by Saturday night though, didn't play any Sunday. Had a couple great games, put the American Camo on the TX and had a great game.

That about sums mine up too- Stats are a bit skewed since I've come off of being a BB main where damage was really high to a DD / Cruiser try hard. Not getting the licks in that I usually did and am getting deleted a lot more often. On one hand I've found that cruisers can be more forgiving of tactical placement errors because they have the speed to relocate- but if you get caught in that bad spot you don't get the second chance like you do in a BB. 

 

Not enjoying the transition since even though I might be getting better, the numbers don't reflect it- so I don't know if I'm getting better, staying the same or actually getting worse.

My weekend went pretty well. Wrapped up hunt for the Bismarck, won an overwhelming majority of games played. All the new Bismarcks sailing in a straight line at a constant speed, it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Meh, watched lots of bad play.  I think I ended with 60% win rate.  I have moved even more firmly into the belief that if you want to win, you have to play DDs on weekends.

 

Win rate over last 7 days, all solo

• DD = 19 games, 74% win rate
• CA/CL = 7 games, 86% win rate.  4 games were in the Fiji, which is more like a big DD and I won all 4.
• BB = 15 games, 67% win rate
• CV = lol

 

I would have won 1 more DD game, but my wife decided that 5 minutes into the match was a good time to have a serious conversation, so I have to try to finish the game heavily distracted and ended up dying after beaching while trying to pursue a carrier.  Once I died, it all when downhill for my team and I got my first loss in the Gaede, now 7-1-0.

 

I am also probably going to see a huge loosing streak this week with the recent high win rate.

Got Bismarck in the Hunt challenge. Played 3 games in her with a rookie captain, went 2/1, will have to grind the B Hull and engine and fire control improvements. Took my brand-new Hood out for a few spins, went 8/5 in her doing the final tasks in the Hunt challenge with a 6-point captain (now 9 points!). Hood will take some getting used to due to the weaker AP, but I like her speed compared to Warspite. With the Sierra Mike flag up Hood can really hustle, which helps a lot when you are uptiered. Weak secondaries, not a whole lot better than Edinburgh. The losses in Hood were all uptiered games with T9s (Missouri, Iowa, Izumo, FdG and a raft of T9 cruisers and DDs), which is a tough proposition for this ship. She can cope, but you won't carry in her when uptiered. Played 8 games in Dunkerque, with 5 wins, am currently 26/19 in her, can't say that I love her quirks, so I use her as a trainer. Fun weekend compared to the last few disasters!

I had a 12-game win-lose-win cycle. Bad time in Des Moines despite coming top of team twice, 4 losses of 4.

 

Then I respecced my Schors captain with IFHE:

176k including 74k on an Izumo, I did about 38k to a Mogami while on less than 5,000 HP he tried to bow-tank and AP me at range, perplexing.

I'm still recovering from last weekend, and was trying to finish retraining captains for several new ships I got in the past few weeks (La Gal, Benson, NC, Bismarck, and Donskoi).  Anyway, WR was decent.  To the good, I had the first Kraken I've had in quite a while - an Arizona game with (a mere) 77K damage, though to my credit I spend about 6 minutes of the match trying to chase two DDs off our carrier, which was not super-productive damage-wise.  To the meh, just getting acquainted with the Donskoi, and am having some derpy moments - the lowlight of the weekend was running into an island in front of a Yamato, barely escaping alive, and then running into another island.  B-hull rudder shift cannot come soon enough.
