287k damage and I just got this ship yesterday. She has the tendency to eat citadels through the bow like no other though.

 

Too bad my team just couldn't take advantage of heavily damaged targets and finish them off, letting them do far more in return.

The fact that I got more damage through fires than I did guns... I think that's a first for me. I think it's also a first dealing more than 100k fire damage. I've only got 17 Witherer achievements to my name so I hardly ever get more than 60k fire damage. Wow.

 

But what's best of all is that I destroyed 13 secondary guns that game. Trying to knock out the 100-secondary-gun-destruction mission before the start of the Hunt for Bismarck campaign so I can grind it out as fast as possible. Currently at 78/100, but I usually get no more than 1-2 secondary guns destroyed per game; this mission is such a chore.

This is one of my fav. Reason? I had a few others where I broke the 3k base XP or the 200k damage. But this game was sweet. 5 ships down, the enemy had 900 points to 200 and all 3 caps. Time to fight back! We sunk them all, got my Kraken denied 3 times. But a victory catched from th ejaws of defeat is always a good one.

This mission was an utter hell for me. Nothing I tried seemed to have any effect... I onesy-twosy'd it all the way from 0 knocked out all the way to about 70-75 knocked out. Carriers, Battleships, Cruisers, (even the Russian HE spammers did no good...) and destroyers, I just couldn't get any secondary KOs, even when I poured concentrated fire into secondary-heavy German battleships...

 

Then I took out Akizuki again for one last effort... For some reason RNG finally had mercy on me, and I finished up the last 25-30 secondary knock-outs in just 3-4 battles.

I've never pursued Russian cruisers past Budyonny on the live server. On two of the last few public tests I tried out Moskva. Holy crap she is a MONSTER! My numbers were nowhere that high but even my losses didn't mean anything as she still raked in the coin.

 

That is one serious game. With those numbers even the loss had to be a thrill. Great job and thanks for sharing.

The mission requires tier 8+ cruisers so you're probably thinking of a different mission.

If that is so; then I guees that means I didn't remember the mission correctly; it also explains why I had so much trouble; I stink at high tier cruisers. Having to use Prinz, Miky K, Atago and Takao for that mission (my only T8 cruisers,) meant having to use ships I didn't like on a hard mission. If I thought I was using Akizuki, then that must mean I used Kutuzov instead; probably for it's gun accuracy, and because I could hide in it's smoke and spam shells for secondary hits.

 

I haven't used that ship since finishing Honorable Service; to me it's just another glass-jawed Budyony/Molotov, but two tiers higher and with smoke.
