Apparently flicking your camera up and firing at the same time bugs the aiming system so you can shoot at an insane elevation.  If you happen to be moving forward, you can hit yourself with plunging fire.

Don't ask how I found this, I was really bored.

 

EDIT: OK, so I tried it with all sorts of ships in training room.  It seems to now happen when you are at close proximity (like below 1 km) to an enemy ship and locked on to him and firing without scoping.  It's stupidly hard to pull off now, but I got it to work once or twice.

EDIT: I think it's safe to assume that dispersion is a function of horizontal distance traveled rather than total distance.

You can do this with almost any ship with two super firing turrets at the bow...

Meaning ships like Farragut, ships like Myoko, ships like Fuso, Kongo, Montana and Yamato...

Or, You used to be able to...this was fixed a while ago.

Hmm, I'll try this in training room, maybe it still works.

 

I do recall sometimes my turrets fire directly up when I flick the camera, and recently too.

Thaaat is extremely concerning. You're able to apparently break the games coding that sets limits on the elevation values... WG should definitely be taking a look at this.

 

On a side note: plunging fire finally working as intended!

You still can replicate this bug.  Firing at targets 0.3km or closer will always result in this kind of ridiculous shell arc.

Sims 9k torps then hit speed boost maybe?

Sims is not fast enough. Only RU DD's that have a 43 knot top speed have a chance with those.

I know Udaloi at one point could torpedo herself.  You had to use the wing-mounted launchers and have speed flag and engine boost running while torpedoing as forward as possible, turning into the torpedoes.

Can't.  They nerfed her torpedo launcher arcs just enough to remove that a while ago.
